[2021] when i hit download it takes me to steam

Hey there.

Are you sure you're logged in on the correct Ubisoft account where you were originally playing the game? If you're unsure you should be able to view those previously unlocked achievements in Ubisoft Connect, if they're not unlocked for you there it's likely you're on the wrong account. I have seen this happen from time to time where players have played a trial on Steam in the past so it will always refer them to Steam.

Are you absolutely sure you purchased the game on Ubisoft Connect? If it was purchased via another store, Steam, Epic etc it will need to be installed and launched from there.

If you are being prompted to download Steam, it means that the game was purchased through Steam, so as long as you login to the correct Steam account of yours, download will start accordingly.

If you are having difficulties with locating your Steam account or if you forgot the details, it will be best if you contact their support team for further assistance.

I don't believe this will be possible whilst Steam is down I'm afraid.

Like previously mentioned, if you run into this issue it means that you own a copy of the game that was initially purchased from Steam. To access the game you'd have to ensure you are logged into the same Steam and Ubisoft accounts that were used to originally launch the game.

If the accounts are misaligned, or you are not running the game through Steam, you will then be redirected to Steam.
