Ok, I don't really know if this is the right forum to post this in, but I want to fix this problem... I cannot use my voice chat anymore for giving call-outs, it's been half a year now since I cannot use it anymore. I was always being stupid in the voice chats, for example, moaning, saying the lyrics from the youtube video "Things I shuved up my ***", etc... But I did not know that you could get a "ban" for this... I can still play the game and use text messages, just not the vc. Is this a bug, a ban, or something else? Because I'm out of hope.

Hey The_Yolo_J, thanks for getting in touch and welcome to forums!

First and foremost, voice chat is there to communicate and any offensive, inflammatory language is something other players can report you for and you will receive a suspension, therefore make sure you refrain yourself from doing so.

In regards to not being able to use voice-chat, there can be a lot of reasons why this is the case, therefore we will try and see if we can find out what causes it. With that in mind, try completing steps outlined in the following article.

Also, go to GameSettings.ini file which you will locate in 'My Documents'. In the section "Audio" change "VoiceChatCaptureMode=" to a 1 on the variable.

Additionally, can you also check your voice-chat threshold setting in-game and tell us what is it set to? And are you using any third party software that may be using voice functionalities at the time, such as Discord for example? If so, try temporarily closing it.

Thanks for answering so quickly! I am indeed using discord when I play Rainbow Six Siege. But I can see my own name when I push to talk content and I also see that my name appears only when I speak. I looked at the GameSettings.ini and my VoiceChatCaptureMode=x was set to 0 instead of 1. I'll test it to see if it works now and otherwise I'll let you know soon!
No worries at all, keep us updated!

I just put it back but I don't know if it worked, I haven't restarted my game yet. I'll let you know if it works back. But have I done something wrong that it didn't work? Because it is a bit difficult not to give and receive quick call outs
Hmm, that's interesting. It shouldn't have really made it worse for you there, however if this is the case indeed then try switching it back and see how it goes.

In the meantime, can you also try the following:

1. Open your “File Explorer” and click on “Control Panel”. Then click on “Hardware and Sound” and then click on “Sound”.
2. Click on the “Recording” tab and then select your microphone (i.e. “Headset mic”, “Internal mic”, etc.) and click "Properties".
3. Click the "Advanced" tab. Click on the check mark in the box next to "Allow applications to take exclusive control of this device" to remove the check mark from the box. Then click "Apply".

If this setting wasn't on before, you may also want to try changing your VoiceChatCaptureMode to either 1 or what it was previously and check with with both settings.

Thank you for getting back to us, The_Yolo_J!

It does seem strange that it is still not working. Can we ask that you send us your system files in a support case. You can find how to do this here:

https://support.ubisoft.com/en-US/Article/000061449/

Once done, please reply back here with your case number so we can find the files.

Thank you.

Hey there.

If possible please create a support case and attach those files to the case so we can investigate further. You can reach us either through the support website by opening a live chat session or alternatively through our social media accounts on Facebook and Twitter and they will be able to create a support case for you. Thanks!
