unexpectedly since today when I launched siege from steam it crashed before the home screen and the prompt to send a crash report popped up. So far i've verified file integrity, deleted and reinstalled siege, tried to launch it through the uplay launcher, cleared download cache, restarted my pc, reinstalled ubisoft connect, and reinstalled the graphics drivers and have had no luck at any stage..

You should be able to re-enable the overlay as a hotfix was released to resolve the crashing issue.

Sorry to hear you're experiencing issues on launch. Could you please confirm if you have Rainbow 6 Siege and Ubisoft Connect installed on the same drive as your Operating System?
