Hey fellas,

I've been having this issue for a while, went through and troubleshooted a while ago, and found a fix, but with the more recent updates, just before the new season, it seems to not be fixable anymore

My ingame voice chat system doesn't work,
I can't hear any voice chat, and I can't say anything to anyone.

In game, my mic icon on the scoreboard shows the same as the opposing teams, greyed out with the strike through it.

My mic works fine in every other game, and in programs such as teams, and discord, and in windows settings.

I use to be able to go into the game settings file in my documents and set the voice chat capture mode to "1" and then it would work for a few matches, then stop workiing one match to the next, than I would close game, reset it from "0" to "1" and we were good again, but then after a minor update, think it was just a bug fix update, that stopped working; and now I have no voice chat at all,

My capture threshold is currently set to 0, although I have had it set at everything in 2 increments for testing, and the same for my voice chat level, set from everything from 0 to 100 in increments of 2.

its been quite a frustrating issue to have; and I can't seem to find anything listed on forums beyond "check your mic settings in windows" and "set the 0 to a 1 in the game settings file"

all of which I have been through.

I tried reinstalling the game this morning, deleted game and all settings, and started with a fresh download, and still no success.

Any input would be great,
kind regards, |
Brismo

Heyo @Brismo_ welcome to Discussions! I'd like to make a few suggestions to help get this resolved for the current season. If your changes to the Game Settings file do not seem to improve this issue it may be set to 'read-only' and preventing the game from accessing the data you've made adjustments to. You can right click the ini file, select "properties", at the bottom of general tab you see "attributes" and next to it, untick read-only.

Please also give our Reddit guide here a shot, to include ruling out possible software conflicts and ensuring the ports for Rainbow Six Siege are not being blocked by your network configuration. I am dropping the ports below for reference:

TCP: 80, 443
UDP: 3478-3479, 6250, 12000-64000

Let me know how things are sounding!

Hiya @Brismo_ , thanks for the answer.

I believe the issue arose again after an update. Have you checked in the security settings where you can toggle the microphone access to applications on your computer ?

You should find it by going into Settings > Confidentiality > Microphone. Then you can check if Rainbow Six Siege can access the mic or not.

Let us know how you get on.

Hey @PapiRez,

Thanks for reaching out, sorry to see you're also having issues.

Have you checked your Windows Mic settings too?

By going to Windows Settings > Privacy & Security > Microphone - you can check which applications have mic access.

Ensure 'Microphone Access' is enabled and 'Let apps access your microphone'. You can also scroll down to ensure Rainbow Six: Siege has access too.

Do you have any other programs running when the game is open too?
