Hello guys,
Thank you for reaching out to us and reporting this!
Does this happen regardless of the Ubisoft title you're playing, or only in Rainbow Six: Siege?
Hey there guys,
Thank you for your continued updates and workarounds - we appreciate it!
If you haven't done so already, could you please open a case via our Support Site, Facebook or Twitter and attach your DxDiag and MSinfo system files so we can look into this further along with your system specs?
The more info we can gather on the setups of those affected by this, the better.
Much appreciated!
Hey @nmate69, sorry to hear you've experienced this issue as well. Thanks for providing this information as well! Would you please open a support case on our support site, Facebook, or Twitter, including your MSinfo & DxDiag files, so that we can investigate this further?
Thanks again!
Thanks for creating this support case @nmate69! It appears we've replied to your support case. Please attach the additional requested files, so that we can take a closer look. Thanks again!
Hello everyone, thank you for getting in touch with us about the high CPU usage that you are experiencing when playing the game on Ubisoft Connect and the game itself.
If you haven't already done so, I would recommend running through the following steps to try and lower the strain and usage on your CPU when playing the game >
-If your computer has been running for a long-time without fully shutting down, please reboot it, to clear any temporary files it may have stored or processes it may be running
-Open the Task Manager tool on your PC, and look for any running programs other than the game and game launcher. Close down all of these programs, except the game and game launcher, then 'clean boot' your computer, and restart the game to make sure you free up your CPU usage just for the game >
https://support.ubisoft.com/en-GB/Article/000063761
-Disable any in-game overlays you may have active in your game launcher, in the Ubisoft Connect or Steam game launcher settings, as using in-game overlays can sometimes contribute to high CPU use depending on the game
-Test the CPU usage after lowering some settings. In the games menu and your GPU control software, enable Vsync, lower your FPS usage, and lower your graphical preset. Running games on high/ultra with maximum FPS available can cause strain not only on your Vram but CPU too
-Update all your game, game launcher, Windows, graphics card drivers, and peripheral drivers, as updating your drivers may eliminate compatibility issues or bugs that can sometimes cause increased CPU usage
-Check your power options in Windows and set it to High Performance in case of any CPU throttling. Open your Windows Settings, type 'Power Options, select 'Addition Power Settings', then select a High-Performance plan.
You can also create a new power plan in these options and set your maximum use of your CPU to 95% or another value to stop your CPU running at 100%, this will sometimes make your GPU work harder instead of putting the strain on CPU
If after running through all of these steps you are still experiencing high CPU rates, please make a private support ticket with us and send us your system files so we can send these to our Siege team for investigation. You can contact us here > https://www.ubisoft.com/help/contact
Please attach the following information to your ticket to aid us in our investigation >

Hello krullibulle thank you for your post. This thread is about the Ubisoft overlay using up high CPU amounts when checking the Windows Task Manager app.
For any other issues relating to crashes please make a new thread and let us know what platform you play on so we can assist. Please also note, unfortunately, we are unable to give back renown to any players for crashes or disconnections.
For anyone checking out this thread, this issue is currently under investigation and I have provided the Siege team with the various workarounds some players have posted in this thread and what worked for who.
if you would like to try any of these workarounds in the meantime, please see check the following steps >
1. Close the Ubi Web Core via the task manager. After you are back in the game, a new login screen will appear. Enter your e-mail address and password to log in again
2. Close the Ubisoft overlay via the hotkey and the cpu usage should go down
3. Open the game overlay and navigate to the internet browser, if a privacy agreement from google pops us, select 'agree'
4. Open Windows Task Manager, select Ubisoft Connect, go to details, set the priority of all Ubisoft processes to low and then select the affinity and set all Ubisoft Connect applications to use only one core
