EDIT: Seems like this post picked up a bit after another post mentioned it, this may be legit, but I imagine Jagex are looking into it!

The Learning the Ropes tutorial from 2008 was classified as a quest and gave 1 QP.

That tutorial has since been replaced (6-8 times, depending on how strictly you define the increments!).

Since QP are a resource that can't be removed retroactively, that tutorial is considered to be complete for all players, whether or not their account predates Learning the Ropes.

Therefore new accounts start with 1 QP.

Heard nothing since.

Those fixes are currently with QA now, there should be news in the coming weeks granted things go fine with it :)

It was never intended for Orikalkum (or above) salvage to be added with the rework, and at the time there was also nothing to replace.

It was initially made and seen in the M&S beta's cache so as to act as something we can place on future drop tables - if needed - but since it wasn't required we removed it from the list of items. It's still technically there in the code, for us. I have a few personal ideas of where it could pop up in the future but we'll see in due time :)

If that was the case then it kind of limits what could be offered in the max guild to mostly passive benefits, so we'd be talking xp boosts or VoS style boosts to skills. Just offering a flat XP boost to skilling is pretty lame (and not really fitting - none of the other guilds offer xp boosts for skilling).

If the layout of the max guild could be expanded slightly, maybe making it slightly larger in the middle area so you could have 2 skilling stands to the east and west of the banking/ge stand. These could be customisable by the player (like invention machines in the guild), and the player could choose to build (for example) a flatpack bench, an invention bench, maybe even portables-style hotspots via invention components (finally enabling players to make portables without relying on MTX).

Honestly adjusting the layout is one of the reasons I have limited graphics as a thing. It's unlikely we'd be able to change the floorplan of the guild so i want people thinking about things that wouldn't need that.

Portals is obviously one of the big things I'm looking at. We have some thoughts of skilling portals but I'd really love more ideas from you guys. What would you want portals to do?

I feel like the max guild is fine as it is - does it really need to be amazing? The max cape by itself is already a big reward with its stats and ability to store 3 skillcape perks. Free teleport right next to the bank/GE. The guild will still have a slightly cheaper boss portal. I think maxing is still a worthwhile achievement based on those.

I'm deliberately not doing this at the moment as it tends to lead and focus the discussion from players exclusively on those suggestions. I want an open discussion so we can get a sense of where the major themes from players are and refine down based on that.

This is just the initial stage of discussion as well. Once we have a clearer plan and design I'll be aiming to bring that to the playerbase to so they can check it meets what they're looking for.

As I love tooltips, why not just press it then it tries to display the analyse info in a tooltip on mouseover of the item? That seems quicker and could display info nicely also.
