Hey everyone,

I just wanted to share a few things about the upcoming Stardew Valley Cookbook. If you haven’t heard about it yet, there’s an official cookbook coming out on May 14, 2024, published by Penguin Random House.

It’s been in the works for quite some time!

The cookbook features more than 50 recipes from the game (adapted to work in your real life kitchen), including some of Stardew Valley’s unique fare like the Lucky Lunch, Strange Bun, Seafoam Pudding, Pink Cake, and much more. The recipes (which, in keeping with the game, are either pescatarian, vegetarian, or vegan) were all developed by Susan Vu.

The book features lots of great photography, as well as fun & beautiful illustrations from Kari Fry, who has produced a ton of Stardew Valley’s official artwork, perhaps most well known from the Stardew Valle...

Hey everyone,
I just want to share some great Stardew Valley arrangements and interpretations made by some really talented people. They deserve your attention and support and if you like Stardew Valley’s music, I think you will enjoy these very much

Stardew Valley piano medley by Pally

Extremely beautiful, heartfelt piano version of the Stardew Valley soundtrack, a masterful interpretation by Pally… I couldn’t imagine anything better.  If the Stardew Valley OST is special to you, this may bring you to tears

Hey everyone, 1.5.6 is out now.

It’s a small patch that fixes a few bugs, adds a “quality of life” feature for multi-monitor users, and addresses a few gameplay inconsistencies that have been around for a long time (i.e. the hoe dirt under mature forage crops de-spawning, and indoor grass dying in winter)

– On multi-monitor setups, the game now remembers and restores on the last used monitor.
– Potential fix for a random crash that could occur at the end of the night.
– Fixed a bug that prevented the various farm types’ wallpapers and floorings from applying when starting a new game.
– Fixed a bug where pressing ESC to dismiss the level up screen would dismiss the menu without applying the level up, causing it to reappear every night.
– Hoed dirt no longer decays under forage items on the farm. This ensures that dirt under freshly grown seasonal forage seeds can no longer disappear randomly.
– Grass placed indoors no longer dies when seasons c...

Hi everyone,

I wanted to announce that as of October 24th, I am now officially the publisher for the Stardew Valley app on iOS. This means that I am responsible for it and any questions or comments can be sent directly to me.

You may notice that this change is not reflected in the app store (it still says Chucklefish is the publisher) but this is only because of technical backend issues with Apple’s app store. We are working to resolve that.

Update 1.5 is still in progress. It has reached an important milestone but there’s still work to be done. I appreciate your patience while that is worked on.

Hey everyone,

Stardew Valley 1.5.5 just dropped on PC. It’s a small update, which doesn’t add new content, but has some important technical changes for modders, some quality of life changes, and some bug fixes:

[Architectural changes]
– Migrated the game from XNA (targeting .NET Framework 4.5.2) to MonoGame (targeting .NET 5). This futureproofs the game and allows mods to access more than 4 gigs of RAM.
– Made various internal changes for mod authors.

[Quality of life changes]
– Holding the CTRL key in addition to shift now lets you purchase/craft stacks of 25 items at a time.
– When starting a new save, many settings now default to what they were the last time you played the game. Some settings like zoom level, gamepad mode, and multiplayer server privacy aren’t copied over.
– You can now build or move farm bui...

Hey everyone,

I know you’ve all been waiting a while for the 1.5 update for Stardew Valley on mobile. While it is underway, it may be a while off yet. The main reason for this is that I had to get someone new to port the 1.5 update to mobile versions of the game, which has caused the mobile update to take much longer than it originally would have. Finding someone new to do the port took some time, but it was necessary.

I appreciate your trust and patience, and want to assure you that I’m doing everything within my power to get the 1.5 update out to you all as soon as possible.

As many of you know, for the past couple of weeks there has been an issue with multiplayer on Mac. The issue was not a bug in Stardew Valley’s code (there hasn’t been a Stardew Valley update since early this year, so nothing could have changed), but instead was an “authentication” issue having to do with the PC platforms (Steam & GOG). This happened because of a strange and very specific issue with a recent software update on one of those platforms. Fortunately, we were in communication with them right away, and with their help, we’ve discovered a way to resolve the issue. If you notice an update on Steam, that’s what it is. Sorry for any inconvenience this has caused.

As always, thanks for playing Stardew Valley.

Hello everyone,

It has come to my attention that streamers on Twitch and Youtube and elsewhere are uncertain about what content they are allowed to monetize when it comes to streaming Stardew Valley.

My thoughts are very simple: You can feel free to play Stardew Valley on your streams and videos and also to monetize those streams and videos. That pretty much sums it up.

I want Stardew Valley to bring people together. I don’t want anyone to be anxious about playing and sharing footage of the game. Use your best judgement and have fun.

Thanks a bunch for playing and supporting Stardew Valley.

The Stardew Valley Wiki has been a very popular and useful resource for Stardew Valley players for many years. The wiki is an open platform, edited and maintained mostly by the Stardew Valley community. However, the site itself was originally set up by Chucklefish, who were my publishers until I moved to self-publishing several years ago (they are still the publisher on mobile platforms, though).  Chucklefish has been running the servers for the site and hosting it for these past five years, and I’d like to thank them for all the work that went into that. It’s really been a great resource for the community.

As part of the broader transition to self-publishing, though, I feel that it’s the right time for me to take over the hosting, maintenance, and responsibility for the wiki. From the perspective of you, the player, there will be very little difference. The wiki will look, feel, and behave in the same way it always has, and will continue to be an open platform edited by the ...

The 1.5 update is now available for Switch, Xbox, and PlayStation.

It includes all the same features as the PC version, listed here.

One notable exception is that, on Nintendo Switch, split-screen co-op is limited to 2 players.

There will be some patches to fix any lingering issues in the update.

There is a currently a bug where the floor will be blue in certain new, late-game areas. This bug will be fixed as soon as possible.

Hope you have fun with the new update!

Hi everyone,
The 1.5.4 patch is now available. It fixes some more lingering issues from the 1.5 update, and makes some slight adjustments to the game. Hopefully it will be the last bug fix patch necessary for 1.5

Changelog (w/ Spoilers):

  • Adjusted the logic for checking for Perfection so that it accounts for games where the farm switched to the Joja route partway through a Community Center playthrough.
  • Lucky Rings no longer lose their luck bonus overnight.
  • Fixed an issue where fishing with multiple rods in your inventory after catching a treasure could cause your character to softlock when casting from a different rod. This was the cause of the fishing rod softlock next to Willy’s house and during the Festival of Ice.
  • Pam no longer visits the Island Resort on Sandy’s birthday.
  • Fixed a rare crash that could occur when watching an event in multiplayer as the clock hits midnight/1:00 AM.
  • The sound of ...

Hi everyone,
The 1.5.3 patch is now available. It fixes some more lingering issues from the 1.5 update, makes some slight adjustments to the game, and adds better support for high-res displays.

Changelog (w/ Spoilers):

  • Added an experimental change to allow the game to render correctly on ultra-wide displays.
  • Potential fix for various cases where the player could get stuck/soft-locked in an animation after using a tool. This fixes the Horse Flute softlock, and may potentially solve getting softlocked while trying to fish (on the Beach dock/during the Festival of Ice minigame, etc.).
  • If the player is flagged as having seen the Summit event but does not have its music marked as heard, they can re-trigger the event. The Summit event now automatically marks its music as being heard as soon as the event is started.
  • The Summit event now properly triggers if the player is married to another player character.
  • Skipp...

Hey everyone,

I wanted to post something to explain some of what is going on with the wiki. As many of you know I began self-publishing Stardew Valley on most platforms in December of 2018. Since then I’ve been taking responsibility for the different Stardew related things (an example of that is the forums, which were originally run by Chucklefish but now are run by me on my own website). A similar thing is happening now with the wiki.

Chucklefish currently hosts and maintains the wiki. However, as part of the broader move to self-publishing, the wiki’s content and domain will be transferred to ConcernedApe in the near future. All that really means is that I’ll be responsible for hosting and maintaining it.  It will continue operating at www.stardewvalleywiki.com, and will remain an open platform edited by the community. It’s important to me that the community which cont...

Full patch notes:

    • Qi Fruit can now be grown on the Farm during Winter.
    • Tools now track the previous two enchantments that were added to them and prevents those enchantments from being randomly selected.
    • Adjusted one of the Journal Scrap treasure map images to more accurately represent the in-game location.
    • Junimos will now harvest crops on the farm even if you spent the night on the Island. They will also properly harvest crops even if you are not physically present on the farm.
