I don't know what in WIndows causes that c0000409 error we see in dxdiag there. I take it HOI4, CK2 and Imperator all work fine?

What happens if you exit the Steam app entirely and run stellaris.exe from File Explorer directly?

And, can you make another user on this machine, log into Windows as that, and see if it has the sam eproblem?

Hey @lazynezzy666 and @Lexine93_LV , thanks for your posts. I've gone ahead and merged your posts in with this existing thread I'd already answered - please see my post above, where I've listed some troubleshooting steps (@Lexine93_LV , I see you'd already checked drivers and reinstalled - that's great!) and some requests for further information. Let me know if I can clarify anything!

@Xeelot @farofa_de_peixe @Exploud95 @Hippie-zoo Thank you for the reports. I am sorry to see that this issue is also affecting you.

  • I recommend proceeding with our general PC troubleshooting guide. Some of you may have completed a few steps listed in the article, but this is a comprehensive list that addresses multiple operations on the PC to help with crashing.

@Lexine93_LV @LazyNezzy666 Would you both post your PC specs so I can take a closer look? If you are not sure of your specifications, you can run a DxDiag report. After you have ran the DxDiag report, please tell us the following: Operating System, processor, memory (RAM), and display card (graphics card) name.

  • Example: Windows 10 Home 64-bit (10.0, Build 16299). Intel Core i5-8350U CPU @1.70 GHx (8 CPUs). 8192MB RAM. NVidea GeForce GTX 970
