So you suffered the issue only with one saved game and you cannot load it? Every saved game has 2 files xxxx.zxsav y xxxx.zxcheck. Do you have both files?

I have checked specifically that hero mission and all it working fine.

Two new maps were added (The Deep Forest and the Caustic Lands) and probably you are playing on of them that is the first and the easiest one. After beating The Deep Forest you will be able to play The Dark Moorlands which was the first map previouly to the addition.

Related to your issue. Have you checked if your antivirus or firewall is blocking the game?

You should check if your antivirus or/and firewall have added TAB in their blacklist or if you can make an exception in your antivirus or firewall for the game.

You also should check if you have anykind of real time scanner from your antivirus. This kind of tool usually makes the game gets stucked or frozen.
