This is actually ridiculous. I made a similar post like 2 years ago and nothing has changed. Meanwhile I had 3 different computers, I have friends with the same issue and yet there is still the same problem and no bug fix.
So after joining a game (royal mode for me) you are stuck in the map overview and can't do anything except for closing the game and try your luck again. So when I want to play this game, I have to restart it 1-10 times in order to play it which could take up to 20 minutes of wasted time everyday for 2 years. I really have no hope for this anymore because you don't seem to really care about this problem, yet here I am in anger and try it again.
Don't even try to search for the problem on my side, it's all on you.

This issue was raised to the team, who were unable to reproduce it.

Apologies to hear you're having issues now.

The more reports we have, the better, so in future, it'd be handy for us if your friends reach out to us too.

In the meantime - could you please confirm that you've already attempted verifying the game's files and completing connectivity troubleshooting steps?

We appreciate that you say this is on our side, but for now, this needs to be confirmed, so the above steps are key in allowing us to continue this investigation.

Have you given the suggested workarounds from that thread a try to force connect to ongoing games?

If so, and you are able to play that way, I will go ahead and mark this thread as solved.

The join spectator bug has an open investigation which is still ongoing at the moment, so I've gone ahead and added your report to this.

It's still active, however there is no ETA on a fix as it currently stands.
