Heroes!
Today we are happy to introduce the latest DLC for Vermintide 2: Return to the Reik.

Expanding on the adventures of the Ubersreik Five, Lohner has a critical task that needs undertaking.

“So, looks like I’ve got a job for you in one of your old stomping grounds. Some dozy merchant’s got his ship wedged good and proper between the banks of the River Reik, and there are vital cargo vessels backed up all the way from Marienburg to Nuln. I wouldn’t mind, but there’s a mess of building materials aboard that Rosalinde needs to get this here keep into proper shape for what’s to come.

Now, I know what you’re thinking. What does this have to do with us? Well, renovations aside, I’m trying to get some of the more influential families of the region to support our li...

The end times really define this series I feel. Honestly I love the Ubersreik 5 or 4 and... Well I dunno. I'd feel different about them if everything was going to be ok. Knowing what's coming adds a kind of... It's hard to articulate... Maybe I'm not alone in this and someone can help. There's a melancholy in following them on their journey that for me makes me value them more.

Yeah, but i'm pretty sure they are proceduraly generated.
We actually hand code each individual rat, rotblood and beastman. Each one is given a backstory, a name, unique lore - in the code. This is why we take a fair amount of time between updates.

There wont be new enemies for the launch of Chaos Wastes. I'm not promising post launch new enemies either, just that we're exploring options.

quite a shame actually i've just gotten into this game and noticed alot of problems that could be solved if fatshark just applied themselves a bit more to it.
Honestly, we're fairly open and self aware of the things that can be improved on. It is a system we want to revisit, but it's finding the time to prioritise it. We want to improve systems, QOL, whilst also developing new content. The priority so far has been on developing content. Whilst some systems aren't the best they could be, they're not broken or non-functional, so priority often shifts towards new. Revisiting older ... Read more

This isn't strictly true.

In terms of fixed items that are immovable:
  • You have 83 frames
  • You have 91 skins
  • You have 176 hats
  • You have 42 weave weapons

In terms of consumables you have:
  • You have 22 deeds
  • You have 7 material stacks

(illusions don't count towards a cap)

You have over 500 remaining items. I appreciate the rerolling system is far from ideal right now in the base game, but there's no need for, say, 12 glaives or 13 longbows.

The reason we cap this is... Read more

We didn't change the cap - but you do have 990 unique items, which is above the soft item cap. (this includes Deeds, individual items, chest & material stacks [each stack regardless of size counts as 1 item], frames, skins, hats)

This may not be correct, it's too early to say. We're hooking in to brand new APIs offered by Valve, which should have had either one of two results:

1. No impact for players, or
2. An Improvement for players.

The fact the update improved things for some, made no difference to others, or impacted them negatively could be for one of two reasons, neither of which is clear right now:

1. There's something amiss with these new protocols outside of our control (we're talking with Valve about that) or
2. There's something amiss with our implementation (we're talking with Valve about that, too)
