Blitzkrieg Wulf

03 Jun

This June marks the 80th Anniversary of the Battle of Midway, a turning point of the war in the Pacific during WWII. Japanese forces planned to catch the Americans by surprise, but the Japanese naval code was deciphered, and this allowed US troops to properly prepare and triumph in battle.

From June 3rd (11:00 GMT) till June 6th (07:00 GMT) play 3 battles in American or Japanese vehicles (rank III and above, activity 70% or more) to achieve the “Battle of Midway” decal.

The decal can be found in the customization menu, section “Other”.

Score 10,000 points in naval battles of rank III and above to ...

If you're strictly F2P, the way you're going to earn lions is paying attention to repair costs, playing conservatively, and paying attention to what the vehicle SL multipliers are.

IF your playstyle is rushing and playing whatever (ie, not paying attention to repair costs) or using more expensive ammunition and not ensuring that your shots are connecting... you will lose money.

To my experience, I have 99.99% of time favored APFSDS over HEATFS....

For me, APDS vs HEATFS is more circumstantial, but I tend to lean to APDS even then, (1) for velocity, and (2) sometimes my shot placement is kind of off, and the heatfs hits something spaced and has no effect at all.

HEATFS works really good from like.... 5.3-7.0 though, IMO.

Mine or his?

His point was basically that "Nation X suffers from Nation Y, Nation Y suffers from Nation Z, and Nation Z suffers because they are prohibitively expensive"

Mine was basically just asking how familiar he was with what he was shooting at, if he was playing to his own tanks strengths, and if he had good situational awareness.

IMHO if players play their tanks to their strengths and have good situational awareness.... They will have a pretty good chance of being top 5+.

1) What is your experience level with armor layout of various tanks?
2) What is your level of tactical/situational awareness?

There is no "Wrong" answer to the above.... What I am trying to get at, is that if you are unfamiliar with enemy weak points, you will have a bad time.... And if you do not play according to your tanks capabilities and use the mini map.... also a bad time....

Nation-hopping will not solve either above issue until you have nation-hopped through all countries to experience all tanks, and the only function that serves is (1), learning the armor layouts.

Well... you make a post about premium not being worthwhile, then bring up things that premium has no effect over. Doesn't make much sense.

All of the things that you brought up can be remedied with practice and situational awareness. There are lots of people who have premium and do not run into any of the issues you talked about, except perhaps revenge bombing in RB.

Neither of these are affected by premium.

Originally posted by Fhuey: ... (1)make no currency as repairs and (2)ammo just eats it all up.
(1) When I'm short on SLs I play my expensive vehicles much more conservatively. If it's a full uptier, I will not play them in that match at all.
(2) Ammo should almost never be what eats a significant portion of your profits. If this is the case, practicing rangefinding and shot placement should be something you prioritize. Even if it's just going for a test drive, pulling up to a random location on the map, and trying to hit the Ai targets in specific areas.

I don't have the FAW Mk.2, but of the few times I've seen one, they were potent (And especially potent at 8.3 before they got moved to 8.7...).

I think the answer is "Yes", asterisk. IMHO far better suited to air-to-air combat than the Meteor or Attacker jet premiums.

Asterisk being, what mode do you intend to use it in (RB/SB?), and, how comfortable/knowledgeable are you about AAM's?

Just my personal two cents. Full disclosure that as of late (Few months) I've been playing much more GFRB than Air RB.

But... It isn't "literally" the same. There are differences, even if they are minor. Slightly more armor in some areas, MG, and the transmission is different.

I'm sure there are even smaller changes (Ammo location within the tank and some of the rear armor I believe) if you really want to list all of them out.

Wikipedia articles are not the most authoritative source in all the land, either.

Hello!

This kind of bug report would be at home here[forum.warthunder.com] on the official forum if you wanted to make an official bug report.

I made a very brief search and did not find any preexisting reports for this.

This is basically just a cyclical issue that is here to stay. For as long as there is a tiering system that contains more than one tier, and a match making system that allows any spread at all, it will be a problem. Always.

Even if the entire system was reserves and 1.3. Or 1.3 and 1.7. etc etc. Then there's the argument that even within the same BR level, it's merely an approximation, and that even at the exact same BR level, that there are the sheep and the wolves.

I tend to agree with Nova, that while there is certainly a performance gap within 10-11 BR that I personally feel it is less noticeable than at lower BR's.

The fact remains it is a very good tank for it's BR, and it can't reasonably go higher with the current BRs. So - it has a high repair cost.

@OP: There's your answer ^^^^^^^.

There's a paradigm shift at ~6.0-8.0 where the "WWII Heavies" which nations thought to be the future of combat/necessary, were replaced by main battle tanks, basically light/medium tanks with very, very high velocity guns.

Heavies can kill these MBT's, however, their 'strength' quickly becomes a handicap because they are n... Read more

The lack of an updated ban list does not mean that they have been idle and/or "pretending the issue doens't exist". Point to me exactly where Gaijin asserted cheating wasn't an issue and they decided to throw it by the wayside?

There is no requirement, anywhere, that Gaijin must publish names publicly to ban them for c... Read more

In simulator battles, specifically for anything other than bombers, but still to include bombers: huge benefit.

In AB and RB, personally I don't think it's as big of a help.
