Hi everyone,

The current 2v2v2v2 T1 Destroyer Proving Grounds event is allowing ships fit with modules up to Meta 5 to enter the event, which does not match the original intent. We have decided that the best way to respond to this bug is to adjust the event to allow meta 5 modules so that the official rules match the mechanics enforced by the game. This means that for the rest of the weekend the ingame text for this event will incorrectly describe a meta 4 module restriction.

Players are legally be able to enter this Proving Grounds event with modules up to meta 5 (Tech II).

Unfortunately we’re unable to update the information shown in-game without patching the client, and as this event only runs until Monday it will not be practical to make that change.

Thanks, added to OP. I made a mistake when scheduling the article and it went live earlier than intended before I had this post all formatted.

Don’t get me started on metres and litres.

Excuse me sir but as an Australian and therefore a subject of Her Majesty Elizabeth II I use the QUEEN’S ENGLISH and appropriately include a “u” in the spelling of not only “behaviour” but also things like “endeavour” and “flavour” amongst many others.

We have deployed a server-side fix. Chat channels should now be gradually recovering. Please continue to report unexpected behaviour.

I’m still hodling my 7 Geckos.

We’ll provide information about that once the situation is resolved.

Good idea! I’ll remember that next time. (Hopefully there isn’t a next time).

I know how you feel. I was trying to get my web alt talk to my freighter alt to share desto for a journey and they couldn’t speak to each other. Tried relogging and leaving/rejoining channels and private convos but it wasn’t working. Had to evemail the desto station in the end.

UPDATE: 23:44 - The majority of chat issues have been resolved. Some outliers might not see correction until the next downtime. In the meantime please relog if you’re still experiencing issues.

Players who lost ships due to bad local intel caused by the chat outage can visit http://support.eveonline.com and file a ticket under the category Game Play Support -> Reimbursements -> Lost Ships and our GMs will look into it on a case-by-case basis. This is not a guarantee of replacement but rather that investigations will be made.

UPDATE: 23:17 - Although some chat services have been restored we’re aware that there are still issues across the cluster. Work continues.

UPDATE: 20:07 - Chat channels should be gradually recovering. Please continue providing feedback in this thread about unexpected behaviour.

It was nearly 3am by the time I was finished with Twitch vs EVE so I was only able to pop in for a few minutes, shoot some fireworks and give a wave in local. There was a lot of people around so it looks like it was a successful event!

We might do up a cool infographic with an overview of the main stats, but I think any super granular data like that would be kept for internal study.

First of all you’re being a bit mean and you’re hurting my feelings.

Second of all this is in no way to coddle “incompetent” players. The literal best ever, most skilled PvPer in the history of EVE Online could be queuing for match, get aggro’d by someone in a rookie ship and have to go dock up for 15 minutes.

That same player could get into the arena and be faced with an opponent in an unfit ship which was only queuing to feed someone else. It’d get blown up in about 30 seconds and then the competent player would then still have to wait for their next match having not had a good fight.

Hi everyone,

It was very exciting for us to discover how players would engage with the new Proving Grounds feature introduced in the Zenith quadrant. Thanks to your enthusiastic participation we learned a lot in terms of what formats are most appealing, at what cadence we should hold events and the duration they should run for. This information is being incorporated into the Proving Grounds events for the Phoenix quadrant.

We have also heard your feedback about some metagame issues surrounding the Proving Grounds.

Unlike tightly controlled tournament matches held in an isolated and supervised environment, the Proving Grounds take place in the greater sandbox of New Eden where - just as with everything else - players are typically free to use their ingenuity or deviousness to gain the upper hand over their rivals, albeit within certain boundries of conduct.

With this in mind we have decided to bring the Proving Grounds further within those boundries somewh...
