Hey!

We are planning a mass test on Duality on Thursday, October 10th, at 17:00 UTC (= EVE time)!

What exactly is being tested?

  • Shareable bookmarks
    – Server performance of shared bookmark folders
    – Client performance of shared bookmark updates
    – General client performance for bookmarks (probably mostly the same as the existing system)

How to connect to Duality for this test:

  • Chan...

Regarding selling escalations: It seems like we would need to create a whole extra feature to support selling escalations separately, which would be too much work, given that selling escalations is only used by a small group of players. Furthermore: trading escalations is a feature, which was very likely not intended originally, and we are not making it impossible to share escalations - just less convenient for selling / less secure.
I am still interested in ideas on how to improve the experience, without having to add an extra feature (which would very likely not be approved internally).

Could you please explain this further? I am somehow missing, what exactly you see as the critical failure.

Hi!

A new mirror (from 2019-09-16) has been deployed to Singularity today.

All rules are staying the same.

Skill points for the last 5+1 mass tests have been re-applied.

Hi all,

A new mirror has already been requested and will probably be deployed tomorrow. Sorry for the late notice (I was not in the office during the last few days).

More details as soon as the mirror is being deployed.

Thank you for your reports and your insistence. Otherwise we would have very likely not found this bug.

Included is everybody who actively participated for the main part of the mass test. The SP is only for Singularity.

Hey!
Thank you for helping with this mass test, which was pretty successful! Most of the things worked as expected, but we managed to identify a few minor bugs.
2 million skill points have been applied to all participating characters on Singularity.

The mass test steps have been updated now. See you there in about 3 hours.

It seems like your account might still be too new. You should be able to join Singularity after the next mirror, which will probably happen next month.

Hey!

We are planning a mass test on Singularity on Tuesday, August 27th, at 17:00 UTC (= EVE time)!

What exactly is being tested?

How to connect to Singularity for this test:

  • Change the server from Tranquility to Singularity in the bottom right corner of the launcher and log in as normal.

Thanks for bringing this up!
This was indeed a missed spot, but we discussed this already yesterday within the team. We are currently investigating moving those Override Transfer Arrays also over to the minigame. Would this be acceptable, assuming you are actively running incursions?

Just so we can be sure to have a meeting room called Falcon. Right? :stuck_out_tongue:

Well, I will go with solar system names. As already mentioned, but meetings in Amamake, Yulai or Poitot have a very nice touch.

Could you please send bug reports about this, best directly from the client after you encountered the problem (F12 - Report Bug) and add details on exactly which option / button you tried to use and what failed. I had a quick look at this and everything “seems” to work for me.
Potentially this is also related to a specific skill or the current state of your skill queue.

Regarding the startup crashes on Intel integrated graphics: As far as I know we have still not been able to reproduce them internally. I could for example start the client successfully (and with ok-ish frame rate) on a machine with the same (or at least very similar) Intel chip as one of the reports, so yeah…

We had also one reporter, who mentioned that he could not start the client in dx11 mode, but he code start it in dx9 mode, but with horrible frame rate.

If you are affected by this: Please send bug reports with logs from logLite and with as much information about your machine (laptop) as possible. Maybe this is only happening for a specific brand of laptops, but we are missing this data so far.

It would also be great, if you could try to start the client with completely clear cache and settings - just for the case that anything happened there.

Comment

Thank you very much for your bug report. We are currently investigating an anomaly in our stats, which looks indeed like a bug and which would explain your observations.

Comment

We are investigating this. It seems so far like drivers for integrated graphics chips from Intel are crashing in some cases, but we are not sure yet about the reason or other details. If you can, then it might be worth trying to upgrade your drivers or switch to a different windows version.

Proving conduits are available based on the population of capsuleers in abyssal sites, this should explain why they are not always available, especially after DT.
Could you please provide further details on these “behaving strange” issues, best through a bug report with as many details as possible?

It is actually not so much about faster and easier to code, but about keeping the user experience easy and clean. Providing too many options will make the UI more complicated - and creating a bookmark should be something, what you can do very fast (with good defaults),

Comment

Unfortunately this will quite likely not be possible (I’ll take a closer look, but it will probably be without a positive result). For the case of a wormhole we are only storing the coordinates of the wormhole and not the wormhole instance itself (and I don’t think that it would be good / easy to change this).
Btw: This will also answer the question of others, if the expiry of a wormhole bookmark can be linked directly to the expiry of the wormhole (hint: no).

Note: Great discussions here! I won’t get too involved at the moment, but I am for sure reading everything.
