Why not hold PC until all ports are ready as well? A lot of new console players, especially ones who have bought the game since the update for PC/switch/mobile and watch YouTube videos (most of which are played on PC), are expecting the same game experience as what they see online. It is frustrating to a new console player to be trying their best to activate an event/quest and it not happen...only to find out that their platform isn't completely updated and they dont have that content yet. It's also frustrating to long time players to have to work hard to avoid spoilers from PC players, especially those on YouTube...and Reddit... who don't give (and don't care to give) spoiler warnings or even mention that it's from the newest update. Most of the frustrations that come from console players could be completely removed if ALL ports were released at the same t...

I totally understand why console players are upset, and I'll take responsibility for that. I also apologize for the lack of communication. I don't intend for that to be a middle finger to console players, and I'm really sorry if it comes across that way. I want the console players to have the multiplayer update very badly.

Releasing on all platforms simultaneously is the ideal, but there are also some benefits to releasing on PC first... namely that PC is a much more open platform, and if there are bugs they can be fixed immediately. Whereas on console, releasing a bug-fix patch is much more involved, and at the very least it has to pass through the whole certification process. So releasing on PC first allows any bugs to quickly be found and resolved before entering the lengthy console release cycle. I still think it's best to minimize the time difference between PC launch and console launch as much as possible, and that's what I'm going to shoot for in the future.

@RealStealth my goal going forward is for all consoles (Switch/PS4/Xbox) to get updates simultaneously. PC will probably still continue to get updates first, but Ideally the time between the two would be minimal

Congratulations! It's been 2 years and one day since the last update on Xbox / PS4.

@zakdoestweets I think I could keep updating stardew valley for the rest of my life, but I do want to make new games as well. Still trying to figure out that balance!

@Mutsumiwins It is used, but maybe not enough.Clint goes there on Fridays, I think, Mayor Lewis occasionally goes and stands by the vault, and I think a few others will stop in once a week

@cubieboi all updates to stardew valley will continue to be free, no paid DLC!

@DangerousFunny the 1.4 update will fix a bug that was making dino eggs rarer than they should be, and also includes another more certain way to get dino eggs

@bismuthuupa the 1.4 update has some end-game content that happens after the CC/JojaMart storyline, as well as a bunch of quality of life stuff. There's always more improvements that can be made and I'm open to at least considering anything for future updates too

@SeanOwe60614333 hey, so a rough timeline for the PC update is "within a couple months", but at minimum it will be after the console MP updates. You can expect lots of quality-of-life and bug fixes, and added depth to most areas of the game. I'll share more in the near future! thx for bug report

@Matzewrath It was in QA(quality assurance) stage for a while, which is different than cert (certification is done by the platform to ensure nothing is going to fry the console). The process is usually: development > porting > QA > cert > release ... right now we're looping on the cert stage

@lightning4512 I can't guarantee that either of those will happen, but for cross-play I will say that there is a possibility

@steaktaster No definite date, but at minimum it won't come out until after console gets the multiplayer update

@ShamrockSimmer I can't promise that split screen will ever happen. I think it might be extremely difficult because of the way stardew's code is written. But it is a very popular request and something I would be happy to see as a feature. I promise I'll at least give it a thorough investigation
