When I'm doing clues and use a lumber yard teleport scroll, I'll often be able to walk all the way around to the side of the lumber yard next to the gap in the fence before the fences load in (loading screens turned off), whereas before, the fences would load in much quicker and I could bladed dive to get to the gap in the fence. It seems to be kind of random though, sometimes the fences appear immediately after teleporting, other times only the ground texture shows up for quite a few seconds (enough to walk all the way to the gap).

It isn't exclusive to that location, but that's just where it's been most noticeable for me. Often only the ground texture will load in for the first few seconds and no objects or npcs will. Another is if I have my grace of the elves necklace attuned to the overgrown idols teleport, use that tele, and then dive/surg...

Loading is now designed to minimise lag spikes and be interactive sooner, at the cost of taking slightly longer for everything to load in. If you want the fastest loading speeds and aren’t interested in moving around a halfway loaded world, it is better to turn loading screens on

What phone do you have? What are the symptoms? Low fps? Slower loading? Lag spikes while walking around?

The spikes happen when you teleport. Can take 30 seconds to load the area.
They also happen while the game is loading up and "preloading world" is in the top left of the screen

If i run from varrock to barb village, There are 3-4 freezes when running each way. tested 4 "laps"

Thank you this helps narrow things down

One last question, does it improve if you disable textures?

(Also I am only interested in normal mode, compatibility mode is almost unchanged in the update, it is just naturally laggy)

Comment

What nvidia driver version are you using?

Do the lag spikes still happen if you run back and forth along roughly the same route?

The launcher is just a launcher, it will not affect the game itself

We are investigating AMD crashes. Separately, a fix for missing textures (along with various performance improvements) is coming in the next engine update

We’re looking into this AMD issue, in the meantime you can disable either volumetric lighting or MSAA as a workaround

Have you unintentionally switched to compatibility mode? It is in the launcher settings, click the cogwheel icon when the game is initially loading

Hey mate, thanks for the reply. This picture was taken about 2 hours into a questing session so definitely not a fresh login. To answer your questions:

- Graphic settings are set to High on the RS3 client

- GPU is a 8GB Nvidia Geforce RTX 2070 Super

- OS is windows 10

- Normal mode

- Just logged in to test and it's not there on this session

Just want to highlight, I'm not complaining about graphics in anyway, these areas have been around since RS2 was launched in 2004 so obviously things like this crop up, in my view it's part of the charm and quirk of runescape as a whole. Still doesn't stop us having a laugh when it does happen though!

Cheers it sounds like this might be something that only happens after the game has been running for a while. I’ve raised it to be investigated

OS: Windows 10 GPU: AMD RX 6650 XT (also happened on AMD RX 580) Normal mode.

Do you have volumetric lighting enabled?

Comment

It is not supposed to look like this. Up to a few seconds after the world around you loads it should all blend together

What graphics settings, GPU and OS are you seeing this on? Normal mode or Compatibility mode? Does it happen all the time?

(The other top comment showing an underwater seam is a content bug that everyone will see. It is not related to the OP issue)

Europe, exynos, is there a bug fix on its way?

Currently at the stage of buying some S22’s to investigate

We are aware of this issue on the Exynos S22 model, is anyone getting this issue on the Snapdragon S22 or any other device?

Hey Mod Dark, s22 devices can't run runescape. We got ours in pre order today and when we try to run runescape the progress bar loads all the way and then starts tripping out.

Qualcomm Snapdragon or Exynos model?

The weird part is I logged in on different PC’s and mobile and it still caused the client/app to crash once selecting a world. I ran multiple PC tests and did not find any issues with my memory. It was an isolated incident that only occurred after boarding the boat in Burgh de Rott. When I went to submit a bug request with screenshots of the error it let me log in and I appeared on the wall in Meiryditch. Nearly 4 hours of crashing upon logging in after world selection. User name is Gandhi Slays, maybe you will be able to find out the issue before it happens to someone else. Feel free to DM me for any more questions/info. Thanks for your willingness to help.

Edit: Changed boat in Meiryditch to boat in Burgh de Rott

Many thanks I was able to track down your crashes, will raise this as an issue internally. At first glance it appears to be a game bug rather than anything wrong on your end

Never heard from the OP, if you are having the exact same issue (crash on login to a particular area of the game that occurs on mobile as well) then please let me know your in game name and I’ll look into it!

There are not many Android tablets built for gaming - most have low end chips targeted at media consumption. Anything with a flagship SoC should run it well (excluding general RS3 on tablet flaws like UI scale) - Samsung Tab S series, iPads, etc
