This is ultimately a hardware or driver-related issue. The recommendation above is solid and there’s some other avenues you may want to explore here:

This is a known issue, but the error is redundant and can be ignored.

Comment

No problem - all done!

You can disable the voice change via the ‘Settings’ menu. Would you still like to proceed with a refund?

Comment

Sorry about that. I’ve sorted that out for you.

Let’s see if it solves the issue to start with!

I’ve swapped out the items below:

Locke Mk IIb Spearhead Boltgun [524]
Tigrus Mk II Heavy Eviscerator [483]
Dedicated Mendicant’s Vestments [Lower Body]
Dedicated Mendicant’s Vestments [Upper Body]
Spectrus VI model bionic eye [Head]
No Accessory [Extra Cosmetic]

Please see if you can load in using your Zealot now - keep me posted.

If it persists, I’ll try with your remaining equipped items.

Comment

Hm, are you launching via the Steam client? Or directly through the .exe in the installation directory?

Comment

Do you have multiple operatives? My next question would be, have you tried to load in using another operative? Just trying to brainstorm as to what’s happening here.

Comment

Are you happy for me to change your loadout on the Zealot? I’ve dealt with a similar issue before, where it was unhappy with the loadout for whatever reason.

It would mean me swapping out all of your existing items for something else.

I’ll make a list of what you currently have equipped for your convenience.

Comment

Please may I confirm you’ve ran through every step in my post above, is that right? I was expecting that to solve it, as I suspect your user_settings.config is corrupted, so I’m very surprised!

Please see if this helps…

Delete Darktide AppData & Verify Integrity of Game Files

NOTE: This will reset any custom keybindings.

  1. Press the Windows key + R
  2. Enter %appdata% within the search input and select ‘OK’
  3. Navigate to: AppData\Roaming\Fatshark
  4. Delete the entire ‘Darktide’ directory
  5. Launch Darktide as normal

You will then need to use the ‘Verify Integrity of Game Files’ option, which is accessible via the Steam client and will ensure the installation is complete.

  1. Right-click Darktide in your Steam library sidebar
  2. Select ‘Properties’
  3. Select the ‘Local Files’ tab
  4. Select the ‘Verify Integrity of Game Files’ button
  5. When complete, close and reopen Steam

NOTE: If Steam Cloud saving is enabled for Darktide, this may automatically restore the AppData and consequently cause the error to resurface. Yo...

As all purchases are handled by Steam, I recommend contacting Steam Support in this case. We have very minimal visibility in these areas, so Steam would be best equipped to help out.

Never would have come to that conclusion! What a discovery! Thank you for letting us know - I’ll add it to the article tomorrow

Oh! That’s really weird… Weapon Customisation is still being referenced in the latest logs.

Comment

It’s not completely possible, but we do what we can in terms of mirroring operatives levels and currencies. If you’d like to do this, please reach out to us at https://fatshark.se/support

I’ve queried this with our developers, and I’ll report back to you. Please let me know if anything changes in the mean time.

Comment

Hmmm it’s referencing the Weapon Customisation mod now. It can be a bit messy when mods are involved as they add so much spam to the logs. Could you try disabling them all purely to see if the issue persists?
