Proof of Concept Test - Cruiser plating and Inertia Fuse High Explosive (IFHE) for Tiers VIII-X. Second stage of the test.

We continue to test the modified cruiser plating and the updated "Inertia Fuse for HE Shells" skill.

Please note: these mechanics are built as a prototype and this is a concept check, so some parameters may change and/or may not apply to the game at all.

This test will help us gather the required data to estimate extreme cases and determine steps for improvement.

The main goals that we want to achieve with these changes are:

Normalize the interaction between cruisers of the same tier: HE cruiser shells with a caliber of 152 - 155 mm should penetrate the armor of cruisers of the same tier without additional conditions. This will increase the comfort of playing on such cruisers and make the "Inertia Fuse for HE Shells" skill optional;

Provide more cruisers with a...

My guess would be you have decorative camos turned off.

Please ensure you have them set to visible.

Currently seeking clarity on these for you.

I have received follow up on this matter from the team in charge of this initiative. Apparently there is minimal time between accounts being "screenshot" and becoming available on the new server with the email being sent. A matter of minutes in majority of cases so far.

Nope,

We have no "rigging" or "inflation" in MM.

MM is based around which ships are available in the Q, matching tier distribution and type distribution, class limits, and player tiering systems.

MM is not impacted by individual ship configurations/player skill/WG ulterior motive.

While you've been good this year young player, I have some unfortunate news for you.

This would require additional animation which would not really add additional game-play value. Developer resources would be better spent elsewhere.

We may look further into the aircraft animations now that the CV rework is completed but no promises.

Again, kinda comes under point 1.

While we have the ability to have this functionality, it once again kinda comes under 1.

Woah, point 1 again.

We do have to be mindful of all levels of player computer abilities and what they are capable, unfortunately designing items that only a small percentage of the playerbase can enjoy is just not the best use of development resources.

... I can tell you that there isn't.

We do not have the ability to control how a player plays the game. Players cannot be programmed to throw based upon how another's gameplay is going.

No... tactics such as:

Attack from the sides to avoid flying through two sides of AA.

Use of terrain to block AA on approach.

Attack damaged ships with already compromised AA.

No, there are definitely ships that need help and looking into - but we are taking steps to address those ships and consider changes that need to occur to them to make them more comfortable or viable as the meta has progressed.

Any time balancing needs to occur it takes time to assess whether it is too much, too little, or just right. Naturally speaking, we cannot address all ships at once since they are all interconnected.

Trust me, we don't have time in our day to target an individual player's gameplay experience and make it worse - furthermore, why would we?

We have no ability to impact MM on an individual level. MM is determined by the ship conditions that have been publicly stated many times. We do not have individual MM factors for players.

By purchasing the "B" ships, you would've also received a mission to obtain 1500-2500 doubloons, and having an additional ship in your port for snowflake style events.

For example:

Scharnhorst in the Armory: 9800 Doubloons

Scharnhorst B in the Premium Store: $27 (about 6900 doubloons) with a rebate offer of essentially 2500 doubloons if you have the standard version so, 4400 doubloons

T7 Premium Perma-Camo: 2000 Doubloons

So essentially you're getting an additional ship for 2400 doubloons or ~$10. While yes, its an clone of a ship you already have, consider it can be used for snowflake-styled events, and soon enough having an extra ship in your port for (essentially) $10 doesn't look so bad.

The "B" ship offerings are more for the players who don't already have the premium ships. We offer the additional mission for the standard ships owners as a bonus for this consideration.

Looking a gift horse in the mouth much?

It is likely that you would've completed the mission chains by playing regularly in which case the container and resulting camos were literally bonuses in this case.

It is clearly stated that those containers have a variety of available prizes within them. RNG just didn't favor you this time.

The cost of premium is factored into the fact it runs 24/7.

If we did premium time that only counted while you were actively logged in, it would be considerably more expensive. Furthermore, the amount of premium time would need to be logged and accounted for every player, on every server, requiring further time and resource.

The current system allows us to keep prices low, and accessible for the majority of players while not requiring complex databases to track it.

You can always buy one day at a time, I do this when I play on other servers.

Heyo.

While we don't "expect" players who own the standard versions of the ship to purchase the "B" versions, we offer the mission as a small perk for doing so since the ship itself is not as useful considering they already have the standard version. By adding this mission, they are essentially getting a perm camo for a few 2k doubloon - aka the standard price of a doubloon camo.

In converse, those who do not have the original version of the ship, can get the ship at a discounted rate, with included premium camo.

There is something for everyone in the offer.

Heres a question for you, many state you do not feel we have been clear about the mission and its stipulation despite it being noted in several locations, and a dedicated section on the article:

How do you feel would be a better way to communicate this information? In my opinion it is pretty clear that it says "Standard version".

German BB guns are bigger than various other ships; including USA and British. German BBs also have other strengths lying in their strong secondaries, never the less, we have already announced our intention to buff German BB dispersion to return them to a viable game position.

Khab is a gun boat, its strengths lies in its gun, not its torpedos. You can't have everything being strong. I can't talk much for the Sims as I have only played it a handful of times.

Down-tiered CVs are viable when they are in high tier games, it just requires you to adapt your gameplay approach. Furthermore, lower tier ships are rewarded additionally for circumstances in higher tier games.

There is a wide variety of ships that all offer different strengths and weaknesses, and gameplay styles. However, if you are trying to play them in a converse style - like a torp boat Khab, naturally you won't do well. You have to play a ship t...

TYL containers do have a slightly higher chance of being a Super container,

We do not have a skill based MM system in place. Furthermore ranks don't really reflect skill.

MM is based on the ship selection of the player and balancing the ship and ship type potential for each side.
