As I also mentioned in the previous post about this, things can always change. The communities feedback will be heard, thats my responsibility to tell the team. I was just being upfront and honest when I said it was by design. This is not a bug, though the mic icon being red at all times is a bug.
If anything changes I will be sure to let everyone know.

Just a question, which memes have you kept as your background?
Sadly I cant find them now :( I just changed my background to the one SurfnBoy made on his twitter. But previously I was using the dont jump meme " because FreightTrain said they were working on performance" and the other was an image of me working alone in a giant room with no help, to signify i did everything alone, not true lol.
Wow that’s a bit of a bummer if I’m being honest. Especially since in the game itself I can see my system functions already, like the time, my battery life, and obviously connection with net debug stats on. Just seems redundant for the top bar to be the exact same thing that I’m already seeing in game. Just more of a distraction. The bottom bar makes sense with the home screen swipe bar.

This issue that is still currently on trello?
On the iPad Pro 11 there are still black bars on the top and bottom of the screen which caused the FOV to shift downward. Not only that, the information bar at the top of the screen still shows all of the devices system information. This is still affecting some devices, mine included. Even after uninstalling and reinstalling.
The information at the top of the screen is supposed to be there. The black bars that were removed were the ones on the side on the ipad pro.

We are working on that, did you try to uninstall and reinstall? We have seen success with that working for some players.
The issue with audio seems to be resolved. Is there any update on the letterboxing issue for iPad iOS?
That should be fixed in the patch that Party Hub came with.

I left the last game I was in, had to do something quickly.
As others have said, this change was by design and was made a few weeks ago. This change was intended to help players load into the game faster by preloading all assets ( shaders, and other tech stuff) This helps prevent you from loading into your first game and being brought into the game while falling from the battle bus after it has completed it path.

Hey u/FreightTrainUSA I was wondering if we could update to iOS 13 today as it releases today. Is it safe to update?
If you have issues, let us know. But you should be able to download iOS 13 without much concern. If you do have a lower end device that has 2gb of ram we are still working on avoiding stability concerns on them.

Train is in the station everyone and has been for the last year! I just wanted to write a quick post and tell everyone it has been a great year for myself so far being a community coordinator ( not a dev <3 ) on Fortnite Mobile. A year ago I made an introduction post about myself and my promises to you all. I have done my best to keep those promises, I hope you all feel the same!
When I first started as the Community Coordinator this subreddit had only a few thousand subscribed, it is great to see the growth that this subreddit has gotten and how active you, the players, have been on this subreddit. From the meme's about me ( yes i actually kept them and even have them as my PC background) to the support of new players it has been great to see and be apart of.
Once again, thanks for the support and being an awesome community! I look forward to the next year and beyond!

External link →Thanks for bringing this to our attention. After investigation, we've identified a bug on iOS that will show the microphone as active in error while not in a party. In this case, the microphone is not transmitting audio. We are working on a fix to address the issue.
We are aware of the Switch issues, yes I understand you have heard us say this before, but the list of issues for Switch is taking time for the team to work through and fix. Once we have an update to provide to our Switch players, we will be sure to do so.
