Some of the updates you talk about were literally Halloween and Oktoberfest.
Hot take but 6 months is way too long to go without an update.
Edit: look at all the greenies who didn't play before 1.0. Go look at the timeline for updates 15 - 35 and come report back. We used to get a seasons worth of content every 1-3 months.

That’s not really true. There were big updates, but they weren’t all big. The Seasons are the biggest updates we have ever done. If you look at Season 15-35 there’s a lot of minor updates. Halloween is one. Oktoberfest is another. Bosco mods was another. Keep in mind that work on big updates can be ongoing while other updates are released, so you can’t compare the release timing from earlier with the seasons, because it is not the same amount of content.
But I haven’t finished Season 2 yet.. :(

I'm just curious, the Xbox Series X version updated this morning to Gen 9 Scarlett, but even in Fidelity mode, it looks exactly the same as it always did, not upgraded like the Steam/PS5 versions.

It might not be available yet. There's usually some delay between the store page updating and the availability of the update. It is rolling out now, though.
