Greetings Exiles,
We’re deploying an emergency hotfix aiming to take care of some of the critical issues that have arisen after Update 41. In particular, these fixes should address the problem with “lost characters” some players have experienced after playing with the new update. We have implemented measures to prevent this from happening again, and we have added a system to merge the old character with any profile that lost access to it even if those who got affected by it proceeded with the creation of a new character.
We have also addressed a number of crashing issues related to Windows 7, connectivity and logs, as well as optimized some settings to mitigate some of the stuttering problems reported by some players.
With this hotfix, we have also ironed out some remaining issues with the server browser, such as servers with “???” ping (they will now just show it temporarily while they’re getting pinged) or listings that would cause a connection failure.

Thanks for the heads-up. it’s been sent to our team so they can look into it.
Hey @piggott03
Could you provide the modlist for your server in case you’ve installed mods?
Please send us your feedback in this thread dedicated to the Server Launcher. There’s a higher chance you’ll get a helpful hint about this problem there

Quick update: A fix for this issue is currently being tested internally and we’re aiming to release it after the emergency hotfix we’re planning for today. No other ETA than this at the moment.
For those of you reporting this issue with mods installed, please read these answers by other players who ran into the same issue.

Are you using Windows 7?
Hey everybody,
We fixed this issue internally and was scheduled to come as part of Hotfix 1 for Update 41. However, other critical issues took priority in the meanwhile. It’s possible that our next hotfix, scheduled for today, doesn’t include this fix since our priority at the moment is to get the other problems resolved as soon as possible. If that is the case, then it will be part of the second hotfix, also scheduled to come as soon as possible but after the critical hotfix.
Hey everybody,
Quick question since it seems most of you reporting this issue are playing in a private server. Do you have any mods installed? If so, which ones?
Thanks in advance.
Hey @Limer
There’s a hotfix planned for today with fixes to those issues.
Hey everybody,
Quick update: We’ve been testing a fix for the Win7 crashing issues and we’re aiming to release it with the next hotfix which will include a few extra critical fixes as soon as possible.
Quick reminder: based on some of the dxdiags and logs we’re receiving, it seems most issues seem to be related to mods and outdated versions.
Please those of you playing with no mods or in official servers, send us the information we listed here:

Hey everybody,
Just a quick update again about these issues.
We’ve been working all day on fixing the remaining possible issues related to the server browser list, including the ??? duplicates. We’re still on it, trying to get all remaining issues covered and its fixes properly working.
We’ve also done great advances in regards of the “lost character” issue. We’ve isolated the issue and we’re currently testing a tentative fix that resolves this problem. We’re currently doing some rounds of testing to see if those characters that ended up being duplicated (after proceeding with the character creation screen) can be recovered. Our aim is that no characters prior to the release of this patch are lost and those who’ve experienced this issue can recover those characters. But that also means, that those characters that got duplicated (or “deleted”) after the update will no longer be available once/if we release the hotfix.
Thanks again for your patience and help whil...
We’ll proceed to close the thread since animosity seems to be on the rise.
Any adjustments to conform to the new API should be addressed by Battlemetrics, who can reach out to us if need be. They’re a third party service not affiliated nor directly supported by us.
The issues with the server browser are of different nature and are being addressed at this moment. Any feedback related to that should be addressed on this other thread:
