For those of you experiencing this issues, could you try this other workaround instead:
In the file \ConanSandbox\Config\Windows\WindowsEngine.ini
, set the variable bPlayFabTelemetryEnabled=True
to bPlayFabTelemetryEnabled=False
Let us know if this workaround gets rid of this issue while we work on a fix.

New update regarding the “lost character” issue.
Our team is looking into this issue and may have identified the core problem. Until we release a fix for it, and as a workaround for those of you who might run into this problem, do not proceed with the character creation process . Exit it and wait for a later time, either a client or server restart.

Offline play is not and has not been supported for PC, and was only possible by a mod created by a third party. Just to clarify, we did not purposely disable this mod, delete it from the workshop or target its functionality.
That being said, our team is looking into possible issues that may be actively blocking offline play.

Just to keep you all in the loop of what we’re working on at the moment.
We’re currently looking at, and working on, possible solutions for a few of the issues bundled in this thread.
First and foremost, we are looking into the server browser issues and we’ve been pushing small updates over the night that have addressed some of the core problems. We’re working on a better bundle of fixes to cover for most of the problems in this regard for an upcoming hotfix (both client and server-side).
Regarding the “lost character” issue, we’re still working on a solution that would address this problem. We might have identified the core problem and a few possible solutions, and our team is working on determining the better approach to deal with it.

For those of you that had this happen on an official server, please let us know of your name and server.
If it happened in a private server, and if you can, please send us your game.db and latest server logs so our team can take a look into it. If you’re playing with mods, also let us know.
