We have identified an exploit tied to hot breaching, and have disabled the mechanic for PC over the weekend while we investigate further. We will provide you with an update on Monday.
This was done in accordance with the new philosophy we have towards exploit management, detailed in this Dev Blog.
External link →Im well. Having a lot of fun getting back into Siege, just been playing with my friends. Didn't realize how much I've missed it.
What are you up to now? Last I remember you got promoted from Community Manager here and were moved to For Honor.
Close! I was one of the Community Managers, but never left. That was Justin!
Can you comment on certain players always starting on attack? I've played 65 games and started 61 of them on attack this patch. We filed a bug report, and there's data on famous players going through the same thing, but we still can't get Ubi to even accept this is happening.
We have seen this trend for some players as well. We are taking a look!
Hey I haven't seen you around in a long time. How have you been?
Doing pretty well, thanks! How are you?
The discrepancy in sight between players peaking angles.
One player being able to see a significant portion of the other without being seen at all. Especially around corners.
It makes sense to have more of your body poking out when you peak but if the corner is in the middle of your face it cuts down you vision to 90 degrees or less.
While the player coming to peak that angle could still have a full fov and see 1/2 of your face when you can't even see them at all.
There needs to be a happier medium between eye sight and body exposure. The cheesy angles of pre-burnt horizon were not nearly as frustrating and annoying as the cheap kills this mechanic allows.
We have spoken about the intent behind this before, and we do not consider it an issue. There are a few ways of addressing the parallax effect for perspectives. We have opted to go for the more realistic method, which means that the closer you are to a wall (or corner), the more limited your field of view will be. Also, as your eyes (camera) are no longer in your shoulder, you will be at a disadvantage.
correct me if im wrong... but wasn't the claymore glitch, and invis IQ still possible after this fix?
Not that we have seen. If you have experienced it, please let us know!
Interesting that the camera perspective issue isn't on this list. Definitely the most persistent problem.
Could you please clarify exactly what you are referring to?
Would the diamond really queue up with three copper friends if they knew they'd run the risk of getting matched against five genuine diamonds, though? I think the amount of diamonds that feel like they can take on five enemy diamonds on their own is extremely low.
If that's the only way they can play with their friends, yes. They also might care a lot less about their rank than you.
Realistically, it isn't a great solution and the potential for trolling is substantial. We have other ideas in the works that we feel address the issue is a better way, but aren't ready to talk about quite yet.
I feel like they shouldn't restrict the parties, but just matchmake based soley on the highest ranked because it is the lower ranks descision to play with the higher rank.
If a Daimond queues with their three Copper friends and you get put on their team, how would you feel about that?
No attachments was probably the biggest thing
And the fact that these weapons deal so much damage that a one or two bodyshots gets you the kill, making headshots technically much harder to pull off for the majority of players.
Indeed! I forgot to include that point.
Wait so it’s only temporary?
It will take us a few days to distribute to everyone that earned it, since we have to do it in batches.
The skin is permanent.
Any insight into what those things were? (even vaguely)
No attachments was probably the biggest thing. Map layout was another contributing factor. We also should have run the challenge for both weeks instead of just the second week.
All things we can improve on for next time!
Nah You thought we’d do it 😅 You just went through the effort to make the skin, might as well release it
There were a few things about the challenge that we didn't take into account. The goal wasn't realistic as a result.
We were perfectly happy not releasing it, but because the fault was ours, we felt it was best to provide players that contributed the skin.
If we had set a realistic goal and the player base was only 10k short... We wouldn't be giving it away. :)
Most were 2 days.
Some for 7.
Some for 15.
Some permanently.
It all scaled depending on how often a player used the exploit.
Only temp ban...
Some. Not all.
We have now deployed the fix for the chat symbol exploit.
Beginning tomorrow, we will initiate a ban wave in accordance with the following section from the Code of Conduct.
FORBIDDEN CONDUCT:
The following actions violate the Code of Conduct, and can lead to disciplinary action in accordance with the Disciplinary Policy outlined below.
Any conduct which interrupts the general flow of Gameplay in the Game client, forum, or any other Ubisoft medium.
These bans are targeting players that abused the chat symbol exploit to crash matches. They will have varying lengths, depending on the frequency and severity of the exploit's usage.

Hope it was worth it.
Nah they won’t ban us for that right? Like they know that means love
No you won't be banned for that. <3
When are deployable shields and Clash coming back? I miss them
We are testing some fixes on the Test Server later today! Check it out!
