Have you guys also looked into people getting matched with players from different regions on PC? I’ve been ranked with Brazilian players and server is EUS and it is really frustrating to have 100+ ping.

Our focus right now is determining the issue. Once that is fixed we will begin discussions for next steps regarding impacted players.
We have seen that players are sometimes losing significant amounts of MMR after a match has ended, with no indication that it was a roll back from a cheater being banned.
Our team is currently investigating. As a precaution, we have deactivated the MMR Roll Back feature while we determine the root cause. For those of you curious about the intended functionality of the MMR Roll Back feature, you can learn more here.

I have just confirmed that this will be fixed in a PC update, with a deployment target of next week, and Y4S1.1 for Consoles.

I guess it would depend on how you define "a while", but there is additional infrastructure required to prepare Azure for managing a game like Rainbow Six, beyond the standard Azure capabilities.
With this in mind, while there may be Azure servers live right now in South Africa, it does not mean that everything is ready for a Rainbow Six data center.
It is something we are still very much planning on doing, and are eagerly looking forward to providing an improved game play experience in South Africa.

In the Hotbreach podcast (skip to 47 minutes, that’s when they talk about the servers) a couple of days ago, when epi was asked about the servers that Ubisoft talked about in 2018, his response was something along the lines of they were waiting on Microsoft’s go ahead on the server being available, not only that but he said that the server must be stable enough in order for Ubisoft to use them.
So even with the server being live I still suspect that it will be a while before we actually see it in use with Rainbow 6

Also, I hate to be that fan that will ask a question that most likely can't be answered so I guess I'll ask it in a vague manner:
(I've been a Buck and Caveira main since their releases and almost solely play only those operators) Does the future of Siege hold anything for Buck/Cav for them either in terms of gameplay changes or their stories to be told (ex: Hammer and Scalpel, because I did notice on the board Harry stands in front of, Caveira has been designated as one of the 3 Team Leaders of the Defenders along with Doc and Castle)
I guess time will tell!
