Shame on you. This is not how you talk to your loyal customers. Are you really so unprofessional that you make comments about someone's intellect??

Rubic and I are not strangers.

  • Jagex banned people who already had a large number of oddments BEFORE Monday when this took place.
  • Jagex banned people who obtained a large number of keys legitimately and used them in this promotion.

For context, I have ~45,000 oddments which is enough for 200 keys with the 50% discount. I've spent a large number in the past and I don't regularly convert oddments or play enough to retain keys for even more oddments. ~45,000 oddments I obtained were within this year alone. How many people do you think have enough oddments today that could purchase 500 keys regardless? Was this even considered?

In addition, you allow people to purchase 20,0...

  • GP entering the game via promotions is not an exploit.
  • This is irrelevant as the simultaneous promotions caused the recursion.
  • A large number beforehand doesn't mean they didn't accrue another large amount in the recent period in question.
  • Our ADS team are very good at finding the edge cases and when this type of thing is discussed, we tend to be lenient. Your data on this is always going to be anecdotal and second-hand.

It's clear to me that you want the rules to be clearer, I have no doubt that they will become more so, especially with the newspost and the internal retrospective.

Other than of someone's wallet, there's no exploit occurring here.

Just for clarification; are you implying that purchasing of keys with awarded oddments is not the same as purchasing another item with awarded GP?

Ah of course, it's my fault again. I'm smarter than this!

Yes

Uhh, how do people know this was unintended in the moment? There were 2 promos running side by side, both of which aren't exactly bugs. How could they possibly have known that you didn't just intend on giving a really good deal? I'm sure some people knew this was an exploit. But what about the players who bought keys, spent a bunch of them, saw they had plenty of oddments now, bought more keys with the oddments, and rinse and repeat until they were out of oddments? Did they need to do the math to see that they weren't just getting lucky?

I'm beyond done with this game. If you guys can't take responsibility for something like this, you guys don't deserve a modicum of respect or a single cent.

I feel like this was addressed by the fact that only 13% of the accounts involved in the investigations received a ban, and from what I saw on the stream it was explained adequately.

It can't say "if you're able to constantly generate more xp/wealth than you lose, it's a bannable exploit", because then the memes about infinite spawns are true. It also can't say "if you're able to constantly use our monetization systems, it's a bannable exploit", because then buying keys is bannable. I suppose it can say "if you're able to constantly use our monetization systems without spending real money or more in-game gold/oddments/items than you receive from them, it's a bannable exploit", but that's very specific, and doesn't address the possibility of something like this happening in PvM, skilling, etc. I feel the fact that's it's so hard to create a proper catch-all rule for this lends more credence to it being too vague to ban for with the way the rules are now.

Yeah I think this is incredibly important given the reaction from some parts of the community.

I'm not responsible for this type of write-up, however it's quite safe to say that if you're suddenly able to generate a practically infinite resource of something, especially something that is specifically monetised, a level of common sense would be expected.

Don't come in here with the blame game, this is ENTIRELY your fault. If you can't be bothered to check your overpowered, predatory promos designed to rinse every player of what cash they have, that's YOUR fault. You are smarter than this.

I'm going to add, did you know that if I PvM, I can make money for bonds that gives me infinite membership from now until I die? Does this not go beyond your "unintended iterative economical process beyond reasonable curiosity". Crikey. What a terrible response.

I'll translate for everyone, seeing as we're not 'smart': 'We f**ked up and it's your fault for not telling us'

Just for clarification; are you implying that purchasing of bonds with in-game gold is the same as this infinite oddment/key exploit?

Did they unban people? No? Then they didn’t accept fault.

The fact that it was possible is our fault.

The people who exploited an obviously unintended iterative economical process beyond reasonable curiosity are responsible for their bans.

You are smarter than this.

Hi there, a suggestion from one of our platform developers was to try lowering your graphic settings before you enter the cutscene. Please let me know how it goes.

I've actually done that already. It will go live with the rest of the changes I'm doing. No immediate timescale, however, I aim to release these before the end of the year.

We took it off the list, I can't remember why. However, as always, I am tempted to add it. Zero runescore, of course.

Use the energy on your dyed t90.

We can't add augmented armours to the crafting table. You have to use the item on the armour manually. It works though.
