I apologize for the miscommunication. The bug, and resulting correction, apply to Army of the Dead Ghouls, not your main pet Ghoul. We believe the main pet Ghoul isn’t exhibiting this bug and doesn’t need changes.

I’ve updated the first post above.

For clarification, this only applies to Essences that already had a global cooldown. Azeroth’s Undying Gift (the short-duration defensive cooldown) still does not.

This is already the case, and has been for a very long time. I just did clean installs of the retail game and then the PTR, and the PTR download was about 1/10th the size of the retail download.

We recently completed a wave of suspensions for World of Warcraft accounts that were found to be operating third-party software that undermines the security of the World of Warcraft client. Reverse engineering and bypassing security protocols that safeguard against client modification is a clear violation of our Terms of Service, and we regularly take action against such behavior.

Many of the suspensions issued were for 180 days, as the exploit we detected allows for very malicious activities such as gameplay automation or rotation/interrupt botting. Upon further review, we found that some suspended accounts appeared to be only using the detected exploit to do client-side character model alteration. That is an activity that we would prefer to respond to with a warning, rather than a suspension, this time. As a result, we have reversed all of the suspensions issued in this action.

The use of third party software that modifies the World of Warcraft game client is against...

It’s been a lot of fun over the last couple of months to dive into the development of WoW Classic with the team, while trying to answer some of the many questions that have been posed here and elsewhere. Looking at the plans for a phased content release, unlocking dungeons and raids, and unlocking other systems, it’s clear that the aim is to create a progression experience that resembles the original arc from when WoW first launched. In thinking about what belongs in each of those phases, the team’s focus has always been on rewards.

Developers have scoured through vendor lists and treasure tables for items that were added in patches, and then attached them to the staged content unlock plan. This means that if a new item was originally added to a dungeon boss’s loot table with Ahn’Qiraj, you shouldn’t expect it to appear in WoW Classic until Phase 5, which is the phase that contains Ahn’Qiraj content.

Along the way, we’ve seen many questions asking if we’re also retraci...

Thank you for all of the feedback on Vision of Perfection—it’s an idea we’re also very excited about. As always, the first iteration of new abilities on a PTR have tuning that is somewhat preliminary. That’s especially true for this ability, due to the complexity of the effect and the large number of interactions it has. Our goal is to make it an interesting choice among the other available Essences, while preserving the concept of it. For this and the other Essences, there will be ongoing tuning updates in the coming weeks.

On the specific issue of interactions between Vision of Perfection and other effects that trigger from or buff your cooldowns: part of what makes this Essence exciting is the opportunity to explore things like that. At the same time, if they occur at full value every time Vision procs, that may be far too much.

Our initial plan is that, as a standard approach, the added effects or bonuses should be reduced in value, in the same way that the cooldow...

The first phase of Rise of Azshara testing is beginning on our Public Test Realms, and this includes the Heart of Azeroth system changes we recently shared in our Content Update Live Stream.

What’s New

In Rise of Azshara, you’ll be able to unlock three slots (one Major and two Minor) on the Heart of Azeroth which you can infuse with additional customizations called Essences. Essences grant your character new combat-related abilities which correspond to specific roles—damage dealer, healer, or tank—as well as powers that are useful to characters of any role. Characters who can spec into multiple roles can collect any Essences that are appropriate for those roles, but the system will restrict characters from collecting Essences meant for roles their class can’t fill—for example, a Warrior couldn’t collect a healer Essence. Every Essence has both a Major and Minor effect; Essences placed in the one Major slot will grant both effects, while Essences placed...

There is no Heart of Azeroth level requirement to access the first Major Essence slot. You’ll acquire it through a questline that introduces you to the new content in this update.

Furthermore, when your unlock the Heart of Azeroth Forge, any character with a Heart of Azeroth level below 35 will have it raised to 35.

The first Minor slot requires Heart of Azeroth level 55.
