The way that queues work is that if no one leaves and the server is at max capacity, you won’t be able to enter the game. When someone leaves that server, the next person in line will be moved into the server and the queue time will go down. So it’s highly possible that no one in your server is leaving so the queue isn’t moving.

Yes, we do have an AFK timer that kicks players out if they are inactive after a certain amount of time.

I’m Luxendra (she/her), one of the Community Managers for New World!
I’ve been running feedback threads, some bug investigating, and posting release/patch notes and other Official News pieces.
As of the end of March, with Aenwyn joining us(!!!), I’m focusing on more fun community things like working with the New World team to host events and producing the Dev Videos to help increase transparency and improve communications from the Dev team. Thank you for joining us on our 4 day journey through the vast and mysterious land of Aeternum. We’ve collected many bug reports and pieces of feedback from you and we appreciate everyone’s time and effort submitting each one of them! The teams will use the time between now and launch to work on squashing pesky bugs and polishing New World in preparation for launch.
As a reminder, New World’s Open Beta will close 2021-09-13T06:59:00Z and we will be closing the forums 2021-09-14T00:00:00Z so make sure you get any last thoughts and feedback in before then!
Until then, we can’t wait to see you back on September 28th for the launch of New World and we’ll say a fond “see you in Aeternum soon”.
