In order to use the "PlayWarSpark" code, you will need to download and install the latest update (APR 25 - 0.14.00.00). You will not receive your packs if you do not have the War of the Spark game update!

If you attempted to redeem the code prior to updating to 0.14.00.00, you will need to contact customer support to receive your packs.

War of the Spark

• All 264 cards from War of the Spark are now available in Magic: The Gathering Arena. This includes the buy-a-box promo as well as cards in the Jace and Gideon planeswalker decks.
• Redeem the code "PlayWarSpark" for three War of the Spark booster packs in-game!

Planeswalkers

War of the Spark features dozens of planeswalkers, effectively doubling the number of planeswalkers available in Magic the Gathering: Arena. Unlike our previous planeswalkers these each have a non-loyalty ability in addition to their loyalty abilities. Make sure you examine your opponent’s planeswalkers to see how they can interact with the game outside of using their loyalty.

• Remember that loyalty on planeswalkers is tracked using counters, so it will interact with mechanics like Proliferate or cards that manipulate counters like Soul Diviner or Price of Betrayal

War of the Spark Prerelease Code FAQ

Play in a War of the Spark prerelease at a local Wizards Play Network store and receive a code inside your prerelease pack that redeems for a Traditional Draft event entry on MTG Arena!

Additional Info

• War of the Spark Traditional Draft will be available starting April 29th, 2019 at 8AM PT (15:00 UTC).
• The code is located at the front of the Prelease pack, on the Token card next to the Rules insert.
• The code text references "Competitive Draft" due to naming conventions no longer in use. The updated in-game event name is Traditional Draft.

We will be performing scheduled maintenance on April 25th, 2019 at 8AM PT (15:00 UTC) to deploy the 0.14.00.00 War of the Spark game update. Maintenance is expected to last approximately two hours.

While no downtime is expected, this is a required update. Players who are logged in prior to the start of maintenance will be required to restart their client to download the patch.

Patch notes will be available once maintenance is complete. For the latest updates regarding maintenance, please refer to the Magic: The Gathering Arena Status Page.

We will be deploying a client update on April 17th, 2019 at approximately 1:15PM PDT (20:15 UTC). While no downtime is expected, players will be notified in-game that an update is available and will be required to download a small patch the next time Magic: The Gathering Arena is launched.
