I wouldn’t want them all the time. At first, it’s really neat to have the change and see this darkness. It can be enjoyable for a bit, but would easily become an issue.

A lot of time, I’m sure, was spent on lighting and color for the game so players see things really pop on our screen and can differentiate better the things on our screen(like their adjustments to Beastmen so we can tell them apart better). Or to really highlight various parts of the map and give a specific feel and tone as the characters play each map.

The darkness and fog causes everything to darken, muddling everything our eyes see. It also muddles all the hard work put into the original design. This in turn causes enemies to blend in more with the map and each other and makes it more challenging for player’s eyes to pick up on different things. Incendiary grenades don’t work, but the frag, explosive barrels, and torches do.

I was thinking special effects(SFX) for all the pretty effects and such. It’s what I had always seen it referred to as. I’ll remember that in the future though. Thanks.

Definitely the ring on the ground that shows how far it should reach(when you hold F). I had a buddy look at the flame and it appears the explosion and fire patch on the ground also match the ring on the ground. So all of the visual stuff you see. The actual damage/stagger is further than that though, so they’re not matching.

So that’s called VFX and not SFX?

I would think moving through enemies during stealth would be more like “slipping through them because they can’t see you”, but maybe the reason is “because elf”. Either way, from a sheer gameplay perspective, it would be a lot nicer if it was changed to feel better.

I believe I remember that now, despite having forgotten it. It’d be a hell of a lot nicer if you could hit the “special” key to toggle zoom or something and then have it stay zoomed so long as you are holding RMB. Or some kind of customization/options for players so it’s less obnoxious.

I’m glad they do experiment and try to evolve things, like what they did with talents. Experimentation can be risky and expensive. One of the reasons we see the same formula for movies/tv shows repeated constantly(like all the terrible reboots) is because it’s low risk and easy money. The end result is the same terrible tasting ice cream but “this one tastes a little more like vanilla”.

There was no official explanation ever provided for the Shade nerfs, so you are correct.

As for OP, there had been places here and there where people complained about the Shade active’s duration. One of the major complaints was indeed in regards to weaves, but there were also complaints about its use elsewhere. I don’t think anyone overwhelmingly wanted it one way or another(on this forum).

Wizard’s Tower and the secret level would be incredible. Easily the coolest map in that game. I liked the On the Reik maps too though.

I dig some cosmetics. I’ve been wanting a bit of Fashion Tide for a while. It’s really cool there will be some you can earn in-game but also buy. I’m fine with supporting something I enjoy. cough Warhammer: Total War 2 cough . I’m invested in both VT2 and that pretty heavily.
