Hello! League sound designer here chiming in to add to this discussion. Like you pointed out above, it would add a lot of unnecessary noise into the game that is already hectic and filled with lots of auto attacks, skill shots and voice lines firing off.

Gameplay clarity is key - we only add footsteps to Spells that convey movement (Nunu's W, Mordekaiser's W, Warwick's W, Teemo's W... wait, why are all Footstep sounds on W?) or sometimes as flavor in Homeguard animations as champions are seen running out of the Base.

Sometimes, in rare cases, Kled has footsteps because it's part of his gameplay to know if he's on Skaarl or not.

Have you tried Exiting from the client and logging back in? If this continues to be an issue, we'll look into it!

I think you can start with Morgana. When I first started playing League, I found Morgana to be very beginner friendly to me. Super reliable damage with her W, if you can learn to land your Q's! I think playing Morg is one of the best ways to learn about predicting where your projectiles are going to be - which will help with other champions as you learn more. When you do well - a single Q from Morgana can sometimes catch a really high priority target and decide the rest of the fight. If you like safety and like being able to support your team, Morgana is the way to go.

Lux is slightly harder - reason why is because you need to weave in Auto Attacks in between your spells, causing you to position a little bit more aggressively if you want to get the most out of her kit. Also chaining your spells E -> Q -> R and weaving autos in between can be a bit more challenging. So, if you find yourself wanting to play a bit more aggressively and focus on dealing damage, Lux is the way...

Hello there! I'm the SFX designer on Battle Bat Xayah. Thanks for the feedback!
As for the W - it should definitely be playing the mini tune in the background - there was a bug that was somehow stopping that sound from playing, which I fixed but not in time for the video team to record. I'll double check to see

As for the E - I'll try to increase the presence of the hit, and make it longer so that it's clear that the root is lasting for 1.5 seconds.

I’m still in school but I do hope to one day work at Riot, because I’ve always admired how helpful all the devs are. I’ll be sure to try out all of this; again, thank you a ton.

Absolutely! You're pretty early, I found out about game audio even being a career option in my junior year of college :) I like to help game audio folks because we are a pretty small, tight-knit group in the games industry.

Also, if it helps, I'd like to plug my blog / website here for you to read, if you're interested! It goes into detail about how I got my job 4.5 years ago. https://danielkimaudio.com/blog/2019/11/18/how-i-got-my-job

Hello Vixiara!
Here are some different tips depending on where you are in your journey as a sound designer.

If you're a complete new beginner to sound design, try downloading Reaper (you don't have to pay to use it). This is a great Digital Audio Workstation that I and many professional sound designers use at work day to day. There are lots of great tutorials on Reaper on YouTube that you can find.
Sound Design doesn't mean you have to record everything from scratch - although that's really cool if you can do that. But sometimes we don't have a lot of time to do so and that's where Sound Libraries come in.
However, they can get a little pricey, so to start, try downloading lots of free sounds from 'Royalty Free Sound Effects Archive: GameAudioGDC. Then, just grab some clips from any videogame trailers or cool gameplay footages, mute all the audio, and try your hand at placing sounds and making it sound cool.
You're also going to want to get your hands ...

Hey League sound designer here, giving some feedback as we would do in our reviews.

Q - Very satisfying punches. Love that the second hit sounds slightly more impactful than the first hit!
W - Passive activate, "Show me your Moves" is a very iconic line and used really nicely. Would be great if the red burning energy behind Sett had a more continuous sound sizzling in the back until he casts his FALCON PAUNCH
E - Love the On Cast part of this ability. On top of that, I think on the stun it'd be nice to have some sort of metallic hit tonal ringout to convey the gameplay read as a Stun. But the "Yes" works well too.
R - Perhaps a bit more physical elements of Sett running, grabbing and flying in the air can be included more. But for the actual OH, the KO sound fits really well! AMAZING editing at the end!! 10/10

Nvm, I found the answer. There are missions in the mission tracker that earn you rep points by playing League. All rep cannot be earned solely by playing the tournament!

Keeping this post alive if it can help anyone!

Cheers summoners :)

Was just gonna try to help you out! Yeah, you need to earn Reputation points from playing and completing missions in League. :)

Cheers & have fun!

hi i am having trouble playing the fighting game because the client becomes very laggy. Can't return to the maps after fighting jhin. A few of my friends are also facing this issue.

Anyways to fix this?

I will try to relay this problem to my team. Have you tried restarting your client - and did this issue persist?

The fighting game is too BS to have actual rewards locked behind it. Would have been fine as just a cool low stakes minigame but it has tokens locked behind bosses. Seriously did anybody test this??

Yup, we did test it!
Also this is literally day 1 of the Event. You have a ton of time left to unlock the rewards, so try to take your time and not burn yourself out in grinding the game for rewards as fast as possible.

I can't believe I just saw this! Thank you for doing this, every time you guys do it, it's super amazing to see.

AA - Feeling slightly dry on the OH's, could use a natural fadeout.
Passive 4th shot - the Choir is amazing.

Q - The hits and especially the 4th felt slightly thematically different than the other abilities.

W - Very nice usage of the iconic sound here on Hit.

E - The rising pitch element is exactly what you need on Jhin's E. Great job!

R - This is SO epic!! And Hades' laughter at the end is just great.
