By the way, still happens on driver version 528.24.

Yeah - that looks awful. You should be able to play at 180fps.

Your GPU seems to be running weirdly - it is stepping, slowing down slowly, then suddenly going really slow for a bit and then speeding up again. And it should be running much faster than it is.

Is your 3060Ti just running with default settings or have you tried to optimise or overclock it? Have you changed any GPU related settings from the driver?

Maybe try it without Overwolf. That can do bad things, stealing a lot of time from the GPU for itself.

Let me know how you go.

Thanks for the RPD. You are running with frame cap set to 144 and vsync on. I assume you have a 144Hz monitor? From the RPD, I can see your performance is quite bad, but it shouldn't be with your CPU. Can I recommend you try a couple of thing?

1) Turn off frame cap and vsync. (ie cap to 240 with no vsync). How does that play?

2) Check your GPU settings (from outside the game). Are you forcing vsync or a frame cap there?

The problem with VSYNC is that if you just miss a frame, then it will wait for the next frame - this results in the frame rate halving for that frame and you end up with very spikey framerates. Which is what you are seeing.

Don't bother with SMT or DX9 - that was for the bug which is already fixed.

Your CPU is just within the minimum spec, so you should be able average around 60fps. But you will drop below that in big team fights.

Your average frame rate for that game was ok, but you did have a lot of frame spikes throughout the game. These would have made the game feel pretty bad. I'm not sure what cold cause these spikes, but they are most likely from outside of the game - are you running anything else? Any frame capping software? Your system load is quite low, so it doesn't look like anything significant is running in the background. How much RAM do you have? And do you know what type?

That RPD is from a PracticeTool game. I need one from a League game, or ARAM. It's easy to make a PracticeTool game drop frames - I'm not concerned about that.

Turn off anything which may use your GPU - and GPU optimisers, and anything that frame caps or modifies the GPU in any way which isn't League. Only use League to frame cap your game. Turn off anything which is recording your GPU.

Have not tried turning off SMT.

It's kinda annoying to get drops into the 50s range, especially since I used to get very good FPS a few years ago with an i5 4460 and a GTX 970 ^^

RPD: https://we.tl/t-A9JobQjpFh

Firstly, all overlays have an impact on performance. Some more, some not so much. Anything which is using your CPU or GPU (or hard drive) to record your game will also have an impact on performance.

Don't bother with SMT or DX9, that was for the issue that has already been fixed.

From that RPD, your GPU is spending too much time rendering. I suspect that something else is using your GPU at the same time.

My recommendation: turn off everything that isn't League. Turn off all overlays, all recording, turn off Twitch streams in the background. Turn off your Youtube stream. Everything. Then try the game again and if it is still bad, send me an RPD.

I don't get why but it feels like 50-55 fps. It's choppy and clunky and I could swear that there's an ever so slight input lag too.

I will check my mouse's polling rate today. It's connected directly to my computer.

Why do you think its not network related? If the game is playing at a decent frame rate, but still feels choppy to control, then it could very well be a slow or error prone network. It could be anything from your router to the ISP you communicate through to the wifi connection you're on to the very server you're connecting to.

You should be running at closer to 90fps. But your system seems pretty loaded, running at over 60% the whole time. What are you running in the background? Check with Task Manager to make sure that nothing else is running at the same time, stealing CPU and GPU time from League.

Your hardware should average around 80fps. I can see from that RPD that you were alt-tabbing around a bit, then changed the frame cap at near the end of game.

If your character feels weird to pilot, it could be network. Also, check your mouse - what polling rate do you have it set to and are you connected directly to your computer or is it via a hub (like a monitor or other powered USB hub)?

Thanks for the ETL. Looks like you have external applications causing issues. You're running OBS, Overwolf, Discord, Afterburner, amongst others. When the game seems to slow down, PhoneExperienceHost is accessing your registry. No idea why. Also, even the taskmanager has a measurable impact on performance.

I would recommend running without anything else in the background (as much as possible). Turn off Afterburner, Overwolf, OBS and anything else which might use your CPU or GPU and try again. Send me an RPD and, if you're keen, and ETL could be handy. (but do the RPD without the WPR running first).

And I have to say thanks for that ETL - its very interesting and has highlighted a couple of things that might be performance issues that we can address internally.

What are your suggestions about the CPU issue u saw?

Thanks in advance

Try disabling Afterburner and let me know if it helps.

As for the load increasing, that has to be something else running on your computer. League can't use 70% of your CPU - it doesn't utilise enough threads.

I have tried with vsync off and vsync on. Neither fixes it. Which is why ive figured it to be a "inside of league" issue tht Riot needs to handle.

cpu ryzen 9 7900x
gpu 6950xt

i never have issues when im playing anything else. and i stream all the time while playing. Sometimes i can get a successful test run out of a practice match. But in any actual game, it stops working. but it doesnt stop as the minions enter my screen. it stops as i make my next move at tht point.

What do you plug your mouse into? Directly into your computer or via a hub of some form (a monitor for example)? And what is the update frequency of your mouse? (Polling rate?)

And, as always, RPD files help me diagnose problems. Without them I'm just guessing.

In 90% of cases, the performance is normal and stays at around 140+ FPS (144 cup). But in huge fights (in this log it is 15:58 minutes) there is a drop in FPS by about 30-40, which makes the game feel completely different.

That RPD only contains data for 5 minutes of a game, I'll need more than that to help.

Okay, but if all the problems occur after 5 minutes of playing?

RPDs give me a view of the frame times for the entire game. Which is why I need to see a full game (not practicetool) to be able to determine if you're experiencing normal or degraded performance.

I see your frame drop at 15 minutes - It's triggered by some large GPU stalls, followed by 2 250ms stalls, which seem to be primarily input related. The input is probably due to Windows events flooding the event queue after the stalls.

Try turning off Afterburner. It can play badly with League.

Yeah. You had a 4 second stall about 6 minutes into game. And your frame rate is consistently bad. Are you running any 3rd party frame capping or GPU optimisation applications?

Yeah - that game looks bad. Do not try DX9, do not try SMT - they were only when trying to find a very specific problem which has since been fixed. Are you running any 3rd party GPU frame capping or optimisation tools?

That game seems to have had an issue with CPU load increasing from 10% at the start to 70% by the end of game. That normally implies that something else is running or your CPU is throttling itself.
