I don't see an issue with the performance of that game. Your frame rate is around what is expected for the CPU you have. Can you describe the issue you are experiencing?

Also, I see that your GPU seems to be stepping between states, sometimes slowing down and speeding up. Are you using a 3rd party GPU tool like Rivatuner or Afterburner?

Thank you so much for this. This could help other people doing the same thing.

Interesting. We don’t test with 3rd party frame capping at all. So, you get decent frame rates with your in game frame cap only?

Maybe it is the oscillation of power states with this new GPU. I don't know. Usually its the CPU which is the bottleneck, as League doesn't push the GPU very hard.

It doesn't need it. It is doing all the rendering it needs to do in between 1 and 5 milliseconds. Then it rests, waiting for the CPU to ask it render again.

That is interesting. Thanks for that. It would explain why your GPU is oscillating between taking 1ms per frame and 5ms per frame. It's probably dropping back into a lower power state - League is CPU limited, so a High end GPU will render League in very little time.

What you are experiencing is pretty much expected behaviour right now. We are working on improving the performance in team fights as well as overall, so hopefully that low end of 80fps will be higher in the future. If its not better in 6 months, come talk to me again.

A description of what you are experiencing would be handy. From that RPD, it looks like you are losing focus a lot. Are you alt tabbing out from the game repeatedly? For the most part, the game is running well over 100fps, just when the focus is lost, it drops back to 60fps.

I can't tell if you are doing the focus switches or if its a League bug.

The problem has been resolved. If you're still having issues, then its something else.

The RPD you gave me showed a PracticeTool game, where you did something at 27 seconds into the game that caused a significant slowdown, after which, the frame rate was decent again. I can't tell what caused that, as I don't know what you did. Do you have an RPD of an actual game?

Looking closer at the data, are you running on a 175Hz monitor? Because for the first 26 seconds, your frame rate is limited to 175, even though it should be just running as fast as it can. The CPU is stalling, waiting for the GPU for multiple milliseconds. For some reason, it looks like your system is frame capping itself to 175Hz. Maybe even forcing a VSync, even though League isn't doing that. See what Monitor and GPU settings you have in that area.

• Video / Screenshot:

• Steps to reproduce: It is consistent, nearly everygame I get FPS drops. This has been going on for a number of patches without a fix.

• Expected result: Play the game, with V-sync, or if you have A Nvidia 2070, and let me know if you get a fix, or result.

• Observed result: Whenever I play a game

• Reproduction rate: 9/10 games will have noticeable FPS drops especially towards the end of the game or teamfights

• System specs:

OS: Windows 10

CPU: Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-9700K CPU @ 3.60GHz

GPU: Nvidia GeForce GTX 2070

RAM: 16gb

Try playing with VSync off. Does that make a difference?

What overlays are you running (Blitz etc)? Happen with or without this

Did running the game in DX9 mode help? NO

Did running with SMT/Hyperthreading turned off help? No

PD: I have tried all configurations, drivers and performance profiles.
It's something that already has me frustrated, my pc can give a lot of fps and in LoL it goes down to 70 and then it stays in that range regardless of the quality it has.
Another thing I want to add is that my rtx is 125w, but yesterday I installed cpu-z and it tells me that it is 80. Until then I don't know what to do, because the manu...

Are you Alt-Tabbing out on purpose? Looks like you did it 50 times in that game. Either that or you're losing focus for some other reason.

I have repeatedly acknowledged that there is more than one frame rate issue with League. And there will always be - this game releases every two weeks with new code and content, and problems will slip through. We do our best to test for these, and we fix what we find, but it is impossible to test for every possible issue.

As for the League Client being the issue, there are options to shut it down on lower spec machines when playing. And hunches don't help - data does. If you have an issue, send me an RPD. The posters on this thread have already highlighted some serious issues that we're chasing down now - all because they took the time to help with an RPD.

I have not experienced it as of today, however will let you know and provide the respective rpd file if it does occur again.

Cheers,

Wow. Regular too? If it happens to you again in a regular game, please send me an RPD.

Yeah. I know. The players here want to play and can't due to performance issues. That sucks.

Part of the problem is expectations. League will not run at a constant frame rate (unless you pick a low frame cap).

But the other part of the problem is we keep adding in new stuff to the game, and new stuff means more processing which means a slower game. So we need to keep optimising. It's tricky.

Yes. The problem I was chasing is fixed. It was only on Ryzen CPUs so it didn't affect you.

Of course, there are other performance issues, which is why I'm still here, collecting RPDs from people, trying to help where I can.

Most of the time you game is waiting for 16.6ms per frame to hit the 60fps cap you've set. If you remove the cap, you should be hitting 100fps in a lot of places. You will still get some slow down in places, but your frame capping is just making things worse. Try with frame cap off and if there is still a problem, send me the RPD.

Do you have an RPD? If I don't have details I can't help you. Also, the problem as stated in the OP is resolved. If you are having performance issues, this is a different problem.
