Originally posted by Goblin: apparently it's our problem and not a bug so the dev's dont seem able or willing to do anything about it. i convinced my friend to get it and he liked the game but he's not happy now.
anyway i thought it pretty weird to play a local game with a friend to teach him the game has to be authorized. meanwhile i have no issues connecting to modded servers at all.
When I get home I'll post a picture.
But the walls are 6 high with a 3 high roof. The floor is two wide outside so there's two blocks of mortar stone outside. And then the inside floor is hewn log. Is the issue the hewn log floor? The stone Mason walls rest on the stone floors.
Empty blocks reduce tier as well depending on their number, e.g. for empty windows and doors. If roofs are diagonal roofs, they need to be two thick, otherwise the diagonal air blocks count as tier 0.
Problem is the stakes received from reading skill scrolls are outpost stakes and useless to those inside settlements. They should be generic like the papers
That is working as intended, as for settlements there are the settlement stakes. The purpose of outpost stakes is for people to be able to claim things specifically outside of settlements which is not otherwise possible with settlements - at the same time they are not intended to make the settlement system obsolete.
No, outpost claim stakes are purposefully not usable within settlements (hence called "outpost"). It potentially can be modded, but I can't help with that.
This is an issue that appears only when the server has unrestricted claim papers, it'll be fixed with next Update this week.
The issue was resolved with Update 10.2.2, already broken towns will need to be refounded, though.
Was just chatting with someone and figured I'd offer a place to play where we often help new people. I didn't link anything, just mentioned it's name.. This is such a ridiculous conversation I honestly don't know what to do with it. Never in my life have I seen a community manager butt in so often for such mundane reasons on the official reddit, and it's definitely targeted at me. I'm just trying to push this game because not enough people know about it.
Not sure what you are trying to accomplish here. I know you don't like me (it's totally mutual) but this is pretty petty for a community manager of a video game. If it was your intent to kill my morale for ECO, job well done. A+ community management.
It's not at all targeted at you - I simply asked you to follow Rule 4 in the future as I have seen that you have added server ads to random comments multiple times and there were reports for it. The rule isn't new, it's been here forever and if there is a rule users can expect it to be followed. There is no reason for drama, no further action was taken other than asking you to not randomly advertise for your server unsolicited in a help thread. Noone else is doing that either. In any case we're not debating moderative decisions. Please simply post your ads in the main thread and feel free to post them whenever a user asks or the topic is clearly about servers to begin with. Assuming the rule wasn't clear enough, I have adjusted it to better represent the already existing moderation policy.
Seriously, we're not allowed to mention it in a comment when replying to someone? Just offering a place with helpful people. LOL
Yes, that is what R4 says when you uncollapse it (at least on new Reddit that is). I'm happy to make wording more clear if it was unclear? It can generally be considered as rude to just unsolicitedly make ads for one's own servers in a random comment, especially so when everything in a post hints at the user having their own server. Some of your other comments had been reported for that in the past as well. I've honestly not seen anyone else doing that either. And of course it's fine in posts where users specifically ask about servers.
Read moreI don't think that is possible unless you have some kind of wild bug. Go the map, there are different areas for settlements and personal property. A town foundation has it's usual property (they start with 9 claims) but it also projects a range that shows the town borders (the range of it's laws etc).
To form a town, you put down the town foundation in a valid Room, then make sure you have the constitution how you want it. Then once you have 3 members joined, you can vote to ratify the constitution. Once succeeded in the vote, you can go back to the foundation to form the town.
All that being said, ECO is still a pretty buggy/glitchy game. If you can't see the foundation, just restart ECO and it usually fixes visual stuffs like that. Restarting the game fixes most bugs like that.
FURTHER if you are interested in playing in a pretty relaxed server with lots of helpful people who answer questions, check out my server Ecophoria. We are 7 days into a 40 day seas...
They did have a wild bug :)
Also, could you please stop the unsolicited ads for your server - I've noticed them quite a few times. Server ads only belong into the megathread and otherwise may only be posted if a user has explicitly asked for recommendations, which as far as I can see was not the case here. Thank you!
I have let my colleagues know that the website seemingly didn't update - I couldn't find a error in backend myself, it should have updated correctly. You can use this link to download the server in the meanwhile if you are not using SteamCMD (as we generally recommend): https://eco-releases-staging-eu.s3.eu-central-1.amazonaws.com/EcoServerPC_v0.10.2.2-beta-release-660.zip
If you need the linux server, replace the "PC" with "Linux" in the link.
And should be available on website now as well :)
