The issue was resolved with Update 10.2.2, already broken towns will need to be refounded, though.

Was just chatting with someone and figured I'd offer a place to play where we often help new people. I didn't link anything, just mentioned it's name.. This is such a ridiculous conversation I honestly don't know what to do with it. Never in my life have I seen a community manager butt in so often for such mundane reasons on the official reddit, and it's definitely targeted at me. I'm just trying to push this game because not enough people know about it.

Not sure what you are trying to accomplish here. I know you don't like me (it's totally mutual) but this is pretty petty for a community manager of a video game. If it was your intent to kill my morale for ECO, job well done. A+ community management.

It's not at all targeted at you - I simply asked you to follow Rule 4 in the future as I have seen that you have added server ads to random comments multiple times and there were reports for it. The rule isn't new, it's been here forever and if there is a rule users can expect it to be followed. There is no reason for drama, no further action was taken other than asking you to not randomly advertise for your server unsolicited in a help thread. Noone else is doing that either. In any case we're not debating moderative decisions. Please simply post your ads in the main thread and feel free to post them whenever a user asks or the topic is clearly about servers to begin with. Assuming the rule wasn't clear enough, I have adjusted it to better represent the already existing moderation policy.

Yes, that is what R4 says when you uncollapse it (at least on new Reddit that is). I'm happy to make wording more clear if it was unclear? It can generally be considered as rude to just unsolicitedly make ads for one's own servers in a random comment, especially so when everything in a post hints at the user having their own server. Some of your other comments had been reported for that in the past as well. I've honestly not seen anyone else doing that either. And of course it's fine in posts where users specifically ask about servers.

There is no way I would know of, but the modding community might have a solution.
Alternatively it would be possible to mod the growth rate only for specific plants, if that would help already?

A town foundation has it's usual property (they start with 9 claims) but it also projects a range that shows the town borders (the range of it's laws etc).

To form a town, you put down the town foundation in a valid Room, then make sure you have the constitution how you want it. Then once you have 3 members joined, you can vote to ratify the constitution. Once succeeded in the vote, you can go back to the foundation to form the town.

All that being said, ECO is still a pretty buggy/glitchy game. If you can't see the foundation, just restart ECO and it usually fixes visual stuffs like that. Restarting the game fixes most bugs like that.

They did have a wild bug :)

Also, could you please stop the unsolicited ads for your server - I've noticed them quite a few times. Server ads only belong into the megathread and otherwise may only be posted if a user has explicitly asked for recommendations, which as far as I can see was not the case here. Thank you!

You can use this link to download the server in the meanwhile if you are not using SteamCMD (as we generally recommend): https://eco-releases-staging-eu.s3.eu-central-1.amazonaws.com/EcoServerPC_v0.10.2.2-beta-release-660.zip

If you need the linux server, replace the "PC" with "Linux" in the link.

And should be available on website now as well :)

Doing that requires a global federation to be setup, which is easy to do.

First, set EnableAdminUI in Civics.eco to true. In Settlements.eco find SettlementFoundationBaseInfluence and adjust the third number to be high enough to cover your world - that depends on the size of your world, for the maximum supported size of 2.56 km² a value of 1200 is sufficient.

Once you did that, spawn a federation foundation, place it at the location you would like it, target it and type /fe to force enable it. Open it, take out the checkbox at "Requires child settlements" and then put up a constitution as per usual and found the federation. You can then proceed to add any laws to the federation as per usual. I recommend doing that in some admin-only claim so those cannot be affected while at the same time players can still take on roles in the federation as per your setup. You may want to check the immigration policy of your federation to ensure that players placing their tent w... Read more

Reuploaded for you - but the time the link is valid is limited: https://ibb.co/mBj7RyY

It's gonna be pinned in our Discord and likely be put on the Wiki during the updating period.

I personally find it pretty weird to want a discussion, but to then proceed to personally attack your discussion partner by saying their view might be skewed due to personal interests trying to invalidate what they say on a personal level, while it is at the same time obvious that you are missing the necessary information for a big picture view and base all statements on your personal experiences and interests - which is absolutely fine, but not representative for the game. If you wish to have a nice discussion with me, you should at least acknowledge that I naturally come with a professional overview, have respective data beyond experiences available to me and assume that I'm able to separate different feeds of feedback without personal game interests playing a role for the goals we have in mind for Eco as a team. If i wasn't able to do that as you insinuate, I couldn't do my job. My anecdote was solely supposed to illustrate how different players and their opinions are, especia... Read more

The early game struggle for food is not unintended and one of the first challenges to overcome as a server community. We do however realize it is a problem some players would like to rather avoid and is currently too hard to configure easily being bound to the world size notably, hence a multiplier for the spawned food plants on world generation is going to b... Die meisten Rezepte sind "variabel" und produzieren ein "Standard" Item, können aber so eingestellt werden, dass sie einen bestimmten Output produzieren - hast du den Output denn auch gesetzt vor dem Craften?

We always release important information in the respective changelog as well, and so it was also noted in the Update 10.2 changelog here on Steam.

In general Discord is our main communication channel and as such non-essential information isn't getting published here on Steam, given Steam users tend to expect news on Steam to be limited to the most important information about the game and aren't very fond of other news. I recommend joining the Discord if you want to be kept up to date on everything - there is also a channel that shows recent development changes.

The different pipe types - next to allow you to choose between whatever material you currently have in abundance - exist so you can lay pipes next to each other without connecting them.

World sizes above 160x160 are not supported by us, but as of PR it seems to affect worlds starting at 100x100? I will have someone review it. Thanks for the PR.
