I like the pretty words, but let's be honest - video games are a business, and if money isn't coming in, people can't expect services to continue.

Video games are a business and the main focus of that business is, and always has been since we announced the game to bring it out f2p, on all platforms not Early Access founder’s pack sales. Early Access is meant to get it in players hands, learn from them and have us learn about what we need to do to make a solid f2p game because the amount of players coming in then is a drop in the bucket to EA.

I posted this on Discord awhile ago, but I'll cross post here since these charts are posted twice a day.

Again, we appreciate everyone being here and helping us build in Early Access. I've seen some conversation about player numbers and decline and I've said it to people in the moment so I'll memorialize it here. We don't run Early Access to acquire new players. No one at DE or Airship has metrics and KPIs we have to hit about getting X players in by Y date, or we need to sell Z items.

We said it when we announced, we said it before Early Access, we put it into the game login screen but it's worth repeating that we are using this time to look at data and tune systems. Our next big attempt at improving some of the player experience and getting new players will be Founder's Season 2, with the ultimate goal being F2P in 2024.

This game is a marathon, not a sprint. While we hope players will come back in the coming weeks as we roll out...

Let’s be real. The teams that are winning invest in team building, bringing in analysts sometimes two coaches and psychologists. Bulba is the same bulba since his TI win. He hasn’t adapted or developed the team in recent times. People keep pointing to what he did in the past to excuse his recent results. And to say that the team drafts and not Bulba isn’t sufficient because whatever he’s doing to strategize and build team cohesion and prepare the team for the games is no longer working.

Basically this. He’s the coach, the strategy, the attitude, and the draft belong to him. All three of those were sh*t this TI.

Comment

Very confused how people continue to see value in having Bulba involved in their team.

This has been resolved. Thank you for your patience as we solved it.

I was there last year, too, I remember. I wasn't super thrilled with that either.

The only area that felt clear last night was Hollywood.

My friend. It’s a theme park. You wait 30+ minutes for 1.5 minutes of ANYTHING. Going in believing different is just setting yourself up for being angry.

I’m sorry but I have to totally disagree with saying last night was crowded. I was there from 6-11pm and most houses were 45-70 minutes all night. I waited 3 minutes for food and drink a few times and it was easy to navigate around people.

I went last year on one night and could barely move and refused to wait in 15-20 people deep lines and 90+ minutes for houses.

(AA flyer here who rarely sees ATL but chows down on some Bo's in CLT.)

I’m not gonna lie, Ludacris’ restaurant is actually pretty f*cking great. The Nashville hot chick is incredible.

Thank you! I wasn’t sure if anyone would read “Just another complaint” on Reddit, but I’m glad you did. I really want to like the game, and I want to keep playing, but in the game’s current state some of the content is just insufferable. This gives me hope it’s moving in the correct direction.

We might always reply but we read it alllll

We’ll be making some changes in future seasons for some of the things above. For example instead of requiring a specific item that might drop from a random event that might spawn in a set location, we’ll be moving some of these to just one item type associated with that location.

They haven’t looked at merch samples for a long time. It’s pretty easy to spot since every single thing they’ve posted on their website in the last year or so is mock ups / renders and not actually samples of production units. I gave up on the quality after the MCIS scarf.

Should I have more than zero confidence in this games future? because I no longer do. Get your act together.

Yes it’s taken a long time for this patch, but to put this in perspective we have implemented an entirely new system (echo dusting) from the ground up in 3 weeks. This system touches almost everything in the game and was no small feat for engineering, UI, and gameplay teams. Early Access is about learning and we can only get better as we go.
