Not only have we been in Discord and telling people their options for refunds, we also posted it as a thread in the guides section that I personally pinned that shows how to contact them even if you have over 2 hours in the game and are not satisfied with our progress.

This seems to be an issue with your ISP / internet provider is blocking access to certain protocols that the game is trying to reach. What region are you in?

There is no update at this time, the post has since been edited. You should be able to log in like normal.

Honestly, if they implement that grace period after disconnects, the game will be fine. It's annoying to be disconnected, but mostly because you have to sit through queue again.

This grace period will be in tomorrow.

We try to post hourly in our discord server’s server status channel. Check out updates there.

Can you explain to us the FUNCTIONAL difference between the game being capped at 10k users, and the game being instable and unplayable when it gets over 10k players? Because either way it sounds a lot like there's a hard limit to how many players you can handle at the same time

Sure. We have a ton of data at our disposal and we are constantly looking at it. it’s a balancing act of loading in more players and keeping those servers stable. When we operated above 10K on one day (i don’t even remember at this point) we were seeing way disconnects, more disruptions, more crashed servers and more player issues than a previous baseline of 10k that showed minimal disruptions. yes players still had issues thats’ the nature of the beast but it was far lower at this capacity due to how the database was talking to the game server which was talking to login servers which was talking to authentication etc etc.

In order to make the game more stable to the vast majority of players we adjusted them down to 10k.

That’s actually not what we said at all.

We said we’re currently stable at 10k users, and the cause of our instability was when it was higher.

I explained this multiple times when people demanded we give them a capacity number, that the total capacity wasn’t the issue here, it was a scaling problem and a number was irrelevant. People pressed at it, and since we’re transparent and open we released the full info (below) but now once again people believe that we are at a hard cap.

We even shared the graph on twitter to show how it was scaling and failing a lot and now we have to solve the software issues we are having.

They don’t give a shit about the player, don’t be fooled, or else they would have communicated the issues to Sony to allow for refunds. Y’all deserve for this game to fail, and looks like we don’t have to wait long to see it happen

You spammed nonstop in discord and when I asked you to stop and DM me directly if you felt we were not doing something and you felt you wanted to give us that feedback. You did not DM me.

We will be changing these prices, and grant anyone that bought them the difference. Read this for more info: https://www.reddit.com/r/PlayWayfinder/comments/15ux4u3/an_update_from_airship_syndicate_and_digital/

I appreciate the transparancy however the queue is not functioning as you believe it is. Check the discord chat, the amount of people that are having issues with it, tagging you, and being ignored about it must be in the hundreds/low thousands

Currently the queue is working for most people. We realize that there is a bug that when you get to the front of the queue it doesn't load into the game. I realize that there is a lot of chatter about this, but it's a low percentage of players (but they're still equally important) so our team is investigating while we're scaling up our database so I don't have an answer at this time.

While I don't think we should give any points to the studio for reversing the monetization. It's a good step in the right direction and kind of sets a precedent about how monetization should be handled in the game. They 100% did it on purpose but the fact they are willing to reverse it this quickly is a good thing. No matter what.

We did not set the price, but we should have caught that it felt bad and given our feedback so we take ownership for it.

An update from Airship Syndicate and Digital Extremes

Yesterday sucked. There is no other way to say it. It sucked for people who purchased Founder’s Packs and couldn’t play, and it sucked for us to see players unable to get into the game after believing in us and our vision.

Early Access isn’t a crutch. It’s a conversation between a studio and the community that’s helping build the game alongside the studio. We said from the start that we’d be transparent and open with the community and that continues now that we have players entrusting us with their money, and us failing to deliver.

Servers and Login

Although we ran technical tests and betas across multiple regions, we were seeing more players every minute than played in our Beta each day. Although we had a queue system ready, that system failed immediately. We quickly implemented numerous fixes to try and stabilize the login experience and those fail...

fix the servers , fix your game.

The servers are for more than 100 people, but not where we want or need them. A queue allows you to actually press a button and get into line to play vs just a random chance of hitting play over and over with no indication of what's happening.

This morning our team recently took down the servers to implement various fixes, including fixing the login queue that did not function as intended last night. We are currently in the process of rolling out the remaining changes and getting the queue back in place and removing the "Maximum players" message that you were seeing. We also mentioned that today we'd be posting a larger message to the community and we plan to cover the following topics:

Servers and login issues
Founder's Pack items being missing
Monetization / Rune silver bundle prices
Player Compensation

We have no gacha or loot boxes planned.

I mean, I'm definitely buying this game and not having cross-play wont change my mind at all because I'm not an over-entitled child.

But it sure would be a "nice to have" :)

Yes, crossplay will be live.

For the last few days our crew at Airship Syndicate, Digital Extremes, and our partners have worked nonstop to bring Wayfinder’s Early Access over the finish line. This was no small feat as it requires a lot of people, a lot of coordination, and a lot of communication.

PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and Steam will all go on sale, and launch simultaneously TOMORROW August 17, at 12:00 PM C.T.

We’ll see you in Evenor.
