Well what do you know. We do (albeit only partial) have gamepad control.

Right now, you can basically move and fight in Pagan Online with your gamepad; what we don't quite have down (which is why it isn't listed as an active feature) is the interaction part. Things like gathering loot or crafting will still require you to use your mouse.

We plan to get that feature complete in a future patch, but in the meantime, don't hesitate to give combat a try!

We're a Buy to play game and that's how we are funding development. As you can see, there is nothing available to buy besides access right now.

We don't plan to have an in-game currency, and no plans to provide advantages for purchase. We're a game about challenge and skill, and won't compromise that by selling power.

We're now available in Early Access and we couldn't be more excited to share this early version of Pagan Online with you.

Lots of new content will be added during the Early Access period, the biggest of which is co-op! Co-operative play is a huge part of Pagan Online that we’re polishing up and will be shipping very soon.

Expect to see more storyline, along with which comes new zones and new enemies. Speaking of more content, this is just the beginning! We are going to deliver new content regularly throughout the year so the story and game can evolve over time and give you new and creative ways to enjoy the game.

Pagan Online is set in a pre-biblical universe inspired by slav myths; you'll see familiar names there: Perun, Veles, Svarog, Dabog, and more. One of the unique features of Pagan Online is its control scheme. The game uses WASD + Mouse, which differs a bit from your traditional hack-and-slash. Here’s what lead game designer Emil Esov, AKA Easymode, has to say.

“For Pagan Online, we did some tests with the traditional click to move control scheme and found it didn’t match up with what we had planned for the game – intense fast-paced combat that can scale up to insane difficulties. Having the mouse as a driver for both movement and attacking meant that we would have to slow down the game more than we wanted.”

WASD is widely regarded as a more direct form of control, with the buttons allowing players to feel more involved with every key press, and as Easymode explains, “The biggest benefit people get from the WASD + Mouse control scheme is control – five fingers on the keyboard ensure you can have instant reactions to what happens on the screen.”

They're definitely something we want - it's such a fun and fulfilling feature!
