The ‘blind’ sector 90 degrees relative to the target’s course has been increased 1.5 times for pulse-doppler modes of AN/APG-59 and AN/AWG-11/12 and slightly decreased for AN/APG-66J and PS-37A/46A.

Sound

RWR sounds have been changed to something less annoying and loud. The reference sound used has been brought from the F-14 Tomcat RWR.

The current provided changelog reflects the major changes within the game as part of this Update. Some updates, additions and fixes may not be listed in the provided notes. War Thunder is constantly improving and specific fixes may be implemented without the client being updated.

Today we would like to tell you about the new effects of the influence of wind in the game environment of War Thunder - smoke, fire, sparks and dust.


The wind has already blown in locations of War Thunder, but before the release of the Winged Lions update, it could only be seen on the grass and on the waves. Now everything will be different! All particle effects, such as fires and smoke, dust from ground vehicles and aircraft engines, gun shots, explosions and sparks - all these effects will now be affected by the wind.





The wind in the game depends on the weather settings. The influence of wind effects is most noticeable during storms, but such weather is rare in War Thunder, and we are looking for a middle ground between a comfortable weather for playing and the beauty of the effects.

Scout aircraft in naval battles. The ability to launch a scout aircraft from the ship’s catapult (if it has one) has been added to naval battles. It is necessary to open and install the appropriate modification beforehand. After the start of the battle, the launch of the aircraft becomes available after a specific time. War Thunder is MMO. Not a tabeltop game for friends.

Here, majority of players wants to play best and strongest side. They are not interested that they would be able to spawn in T-34 (1942) two or three times, when they can switch side and play as Tiger.

We tried different approaches for years, and as said in Q&A, even when statistically we manage to achieve fair and balanced environment for both sides, one was always upset and feel "cheated". Because that T-34 needs to die few times, person who played it, felt like he have no chances.

Sadly something, that can be explained to friends before few hours session, is hard to explain to someone, who simply want to sit down and play for few minutes.


TL;DR something that fits for complicated and longer sessions, do not fits to dynamic, online game.

Battle Rating changes have been implemented (open the full table).



We raise the BR bar to 11.3 for the extremely effective MiG-23MLD and F-4EJ Kai aircraft to avoid or reduce the possibility of encountering aircraft of the lower BRs.


We also are considering a BR rise to 11.3 for certain combat helicopters, such as the Ka-52, Mi-28NM, and EC-665 Tiger UHT to exclude them from BR 10.0 battles.
