The Card Evolution update is now out, and with it, the new Elite Levels.

Elite Levels and how they work have generated strong reactions from the Community, and we would like to address some of the questions and feedback we've seen these past few days.

Our goal is to provide you with more insights about the why’s and what’s.

This is a long one, so let’s get into it.

WHY WE ADD MORE LEVELS??

Vertical progression is central to Clash Royale. The game was designed more than 7 years ago around how players progress by upgrading cards and battling in the Arena. While it might not be the case for everyone, this way of progression is a key goal for many players.

We can see a significant drop in activity from casual players once they have maxed their main deck (8 cards). They quite simply, stop playing and leave the game, no matter where they play most (Trophy Road, PoL, Events), and this drop is signifi...

Ok, to avoid any confusion here:

u/Sean1739 asked me if "it was real", which I understood as if the screenshot/gold discount button appearing in the game was real.

So yes, it was. That was a bug and not something that was supposed to appear in the game. But I haven't confirmed anything more, like an eventual Slash Royale or a gold discount coming anytime soon.

I'll make sure to be more precise in the future :)

After reading all your comments, I thought that more explanation would be helpful as to why the final balance changes are pretty much the same as the WIP ones.

First, if you haven't already, I invite you to read the RoyaleAPI article, which provides some information about the changes and also why we haven't touched Mirror, Mortar, and Goblin Drill (and also something about Champions).

Like the Log in June, this change prompted a lot of pushback (pun intended) in the Community. The crown tower damage nerf to the Log had little impact on his popularity, so when we discussed the community feedback about the Fireball, we decided to go through with our first idea, keep a significant change, and not repeat the same pattern.

- GOBLINS / GOBLIN GANG

We know a change is needed. The difficulty here is to balance Goblins ...

You haven't gone crazy :)
It's by design. Previously, elixir "decimals" were not supported by the game (0.1, 0.2, 0.3 elixir, etc..). So when the double elixir time started, there was a "natural" bump.
Since the last update, decimals are now supported, so the bump is not happening anymore.

If you bought the emote during the bug and you don't want it anymore after the fix because it changed, you can contact support to have it removed and get a refund for your gems.
