Ok, I think I understand now how it work.

When entering a skydome, there is two layers and when you enter through the second one, the skydome must render a snow or a desert landscape.

If the bug occur, everything is upside down, meaning when you go through the second one, it render like you were out.

It can been seen in this precise case when the player is right between the two layers, you can see the desert/snow landscape before you go through the second layer.

Here a screen:

I was thinking of this because before the bug happened, there was a little lag when entering a skydome where you can see outside for just a second then the dome render correctly. After the bug occur, this is the opposite for me, the dome render correctly then the glitch appear.

So I think when a player enter and leave a skydome too fast, the savefile must go corrupt and invert the two layers. I ...

Aye, thanks - haven't had a chance to look at it yet, but it's on our list.

You playing with boosted egg dropping rates? If so - that's likely interacting poorly with the boosted drop rate of the easter dodos. You could turn your rate down or disable the event by passing -ActiveEvent=None on the cmdline.

We increased the rate this year to make sure people can enjoy the content - it uh... goes further if you have tweaked egg laying interval. :P

Ok, some informations I have gathered and tested for hours to help...:

- Deleting the folder : "Saved" in "\Steam\steamapps\common\ARK\ShooterGame" and create a new game solve the issue.

- I was able to get the bug while traveling with a fast flying mount between in and out of the dome rapidly.

- While in the dome itself, meaning not outside but not inside, I can see the dome rendered correctly.

- The dome glitch was here but not for all of my mount, while using a phoenix the glitch was here but not while using a snow owl.

- The glitch alway occured while riding a phoenix from the mod "Royal Phoenix" which is a fast flyer mount with light effect.

- Roll back to a previous save before the glitch occur solve the problem.

I've tried many fix:

- Deleting -sm4 and many other things in my launch option.

- Adjusting my settings, and so on...

Hope this might help you, I know getting some feedback alway help...

It seems to be related to the stasis bug, where a dino in stasis when it came out, the game doesn't correctly calculate the food/hunger and it starts starving. THIS IS A KNOWN BUG. Has been around for a LONG time. It became prevalent when the water stasis/raising was fixed and ORP was implemented. It's still happening to some degree. Also related to the same bug where babies starve if you are not in render when they go juvenile, and the poof age of dinos if you are not in render at the time of tame.

Interesting - this bit is worth investigating. Thanks.

Wanted to stop by and share some details about how this works. When a dino is inside of a cryopod, it isn't a dino. It's just a string of data - it's nearly identical to when they're uploaded or saved in your savegame. The presence of stats on the detail panel of the cryopod can be an indication of how long ago it was cryo'd (before the patch that added that) or some other ui bug, but those stats are separate from the dino itself and are not an indication of its health inside of the pod.

It's impossible for a dino to starve while it's inside of a cryopod - it doesn't know what food is. The only thing that can happen in that state is the cryopod losing its charge and destroying the dino inside. I think it's likely that that behavior is being misinterpreted as starving.

There is a tricky bit with that when a cryofridge isn't powered and you open it up to look at your cryopods. When you do that, they decay for the amount of time that has passed since they were last exa...

but yeah..

We had to create a new one, fwiw.

usually ps4 gets every update at a delay, even when it is a known bad patch on pc.. ps4 still ends up getting it

once we literally got a patch that broke snow owls so they could give unlimited food on the same day that the same bug was fixed on pc

We released the version of the patch that didn't include the vault cleanup code on ps4 today, same time as xbox.

Aye - came from applying the same approach - valor did the heavy lifting on that one. :)

Many thanks for responding.

The new command will definitely help out people that have lost accounts. Only other thing I can think of is way for players to reclaim their imprinted dinos again. Didn't happen to me this time, but know people have lost a lot of time investment recently. Feel for those that lost their imprinted Gigas and squids. That two week time investment is rough when you lose 50+ of those dinos in blink of an eye.

CS started restoring imprints a while back.

Fair point.

The new team has tried to pay specific attention to how we can improve these situations - the changes to patching over the last year have come from this. It's why when we reversed the HOD ban, we committed ourselves internally to approaching meshing through a new way which you're starting to see the results of now. It's also why we've added the givetekengramsto admin command in today's patch.

The reality is that we're human, and we make mistakes like everyone else, but we're trying to learn from them and change our processes to help.

We included an admin command in today's patch to help cs help you with this. They're working out the logistics now, but if you lost a character from this rollback, they should be able to help you out.
