Basically what happens in live games is that it assigns you a random tribe even if you do not have it if you time out. So even thought you didnt own ai-mo you still got assigned it

So, officially, we don't like adding stuff from the fans directly as it keeps the liability down.
Now, sometimes we might gain "inspiration" from fan ideas, but the chance of us just adding the Pikeman as you've suggested is minimal to none, honestly.

Maybe we can speculate here… perhaps the coders made a lot of the game before actually establishing a company (hence turn 12 instead of turn 1…)

Actually, the Tribe Duels are designed with nooks in mind, and set up so everyone can contribute, regardless of skill level
How does the "Tribe duels" work?
They're a set of tribe-centric 1v1's. There's more details on the Discord
So I opened the game to play my turn and it said that there are no other players and showed me the "finish game" option instead of next turn. Which I found surprising because the game had barely begun, and I checked that both the players were still in the game. And then I won.. because there was no other option. It's such a shame because it was turning out to be such an interesting game.
