The FAQ states that Diplo can't be disabled.

I've been playing this game for years, brought all the tribes without thinking twice. I generally play with AI on creative mode because I really liked to get all those monuments to decorate those small cities with. The simplicity and quickness of this game made it addictive. I've got so addicted that I had to install an app block to be productive irl. I was looking forward to this update and found it interesting at first. I really enjoy that you can make peace with some units. That made sense to gather more resources, explore the area further and get the peacemaker monument.
However, the worst unit is the cloak. I don't see a reason for it to be invisible. You have the mind bender who could transform a dragon without needing to be invisible so that's really the worst feature about this cloak such that I don't enjoy spawning it.
If you absolutely must keep invisibility, it desperately needs a cooldown rate a...
Mind Benders can help spot Cloaks, actually.
Also, many fans consider then easy to counter by just having units in your territory.

It was changed about a year ago, iirc.
We felt that it was an inconsistency that needed to be rectified
For the record, conversion is considered a "hostile action" and will mess with the Altar of Peace's task

No
Yes, I do understand it was a bit of a Mary Sue unit before, but now AI just camps and spawn kills for the entire game and I can’t get move units around because they die on spawn. Now that the AI can quickly upgrade with alliances, within the first 10 turns I have pirate ships also spawn killing. The knight could survive more than one hit before the update. I just feel like there is just no mobility now to even begin to form a new strategy.
We'll be making improvements to the AI as time goes on. :)
If you’re going to mess with solid strategies that players have been developing for months or years by continually changing the stats of a unit (the knight), at least have the decency to make the game comparable with bar at the top of IOS devices. All this update did for me was make it so the Stars, score, and turn at the top are hidden no matter the UI size. You made an update that nerfed a solid unit, needlessly buffed the AI, and now I can’t see the controls. Once again: if you’re going to add a difficult update, do it right.
The UI thing is a bug, as you should always have that. This is the first I've heard of it since the update, though.
The Knight was nerfed due to overwhelming fan responses asking it to be nerfed. We changed it from a "do everything" unit to more of a specialist, which should minimize the amount of boring and unfun "Knight Spam".
Is that why the replays also got removed? Also, could we get replays for pass and play games when they return?
Yes, they'll come back, but aren't done yet.
No, as the replays can only work on games that are on the server - i.e. standard multiplayer games.
