/u/darkhearted_raven I know you're no longer working on RS3 (still sad/mad about that, by the way), but perhaps you can re-reconfirm this?

It's been so long since I've looked at that code now, but the way it was originally coded was that ravensworn was a byproduct of rolling the mysterious trait. Of course ravensworn also should read as mysteirous in terms of breeding, so naturally the two link together. So there IS some benefit of rolling ravensworn together, but it should be no easier than two mysterious parents.

Though it might also have been edited since my time.

I should clarify, I won't be working on RS3. I'm back, but am working... on something else... ;)

/u/darkhearted_raven please elaborate if you can

I did actually do a bit of gamejam stuff on Rite of Passage, but it's too large for a single gamejam and required quite a lot of art support to make it work -- and that art was (rightfully) used elsewhere.

Quests take a long time to develop. Gamejams are days, quests generally need months.

Blkwitch continues to not only be an awesome person, but staggeringly talented. I am not surprised she's creating something this cool.

It wouldn't work as originally envisioned but it could still work. Armadyl is helping the f**ked up elves on Tarddiad at the moment while also evacuating aviansie from Abbinah to Tarddiad because of how volatile Abbinah is. It's a very good place to tie into an Abbinah/aviansie focused quest, even if it deviates from what Rite of Passage was originally going to be.

EDIT: There's also the potential to put an elder artifact on Abbinah, because the artifact Armadyl used to obtain godhood is currently unknown but is stated to not be the Staff of Armadyl, and he ascended before uniting the aviansie.

It wouldn't work as originally envisioned but it could still work.

As the person who designed the original RoP, it absolutely could work. I even left behind a possible design for it in the current age. Would need some tweaks following some of the more recent stuff, but there's nothing there that couldn't work in the modern setting. ;)

That said, I wouldn't bank on it, lol. Also I would like to think that if Jagex did want to do it, they'd at least reach out to me.

Also, you people do know that Raven has a thing for killing off characters, right? Basically the George R.R. Martin of Gielinor.

Kerapac, for being such an unabashed determinator and chad. Not a good person, not a hero. Just very determined and intelligent. Didn't give a damn about anything but his unethical science and his crusade against his horrible creators. He's just such a consistent, unrelenting character.

Kerapac's first draft was so different. Friendly, polite, nice... I am so glad that Mod Osborne pointed that out in feedback. So Kerapac became the unabashed sociopath he was destined to be.

Minor fun fact: One of the earlier drafts of "One of A Kind" actually had you find Hannibus and Kerapac shacked up together as a couple. Very different approach from what we went with. :D

More seriously: Charos. Strange how much i can relate to him and what he does and what he's been thru.

Honorable mention: the Lumbridge cook's previous assistant. Never met them in game, but they must be the smartest person in the world. But without them, we wouldn't be the adventurer we are today.

I'd legitimately love a translation of the game from Thok's perspective. It'd be absolutely amazing

Fun fact: My process for writing Thok was as follows -- Imagine a golden retriever. Give it a hat with horns.

That's it... that was the entire process. I think it works well.

From a spectator’s perspective, Sliske. You can never predict what will happen when the inscrutable shadow Mahjarrat is around, but you can guarantee it’ll be interesting.

From the perspective of my character, probably Wahisietel or Azzanadra, I feel like those two are my buddies even after the whole ‘betrayed me and almost ended the world’ thing with Azzy.

I also really like Vicendithas.

He was an awesome character to write. One of the hardest parts of leaving Jagex was having to set aside some of the stories that I wanted to tell with him.
