A wonderful final hurrah from one of the greats. While I wish I could rock multiple titles at once, this will even supplant my normal "Wikian" title for a good while. Rainbow + Raven is a winning combo.
I wish you joy and luck at whatever job you end up/already have ended up at after Jagex.

I am currently employed as a Lead Narrative Designer, so I'm in a good spot. Working on something very cool, which I shall obviously talk about when I am legally allowed to do so. :D
Why is the answer cheese wheel? I tried to find the answer with my clan today and couldn't until i found this post. Is this the first item you created in game or is there something else i didn't know?
It was the very first item that got added into the game that I worked on. In my first ever RuneFest it was one of the only things I actually had to talk about with players, which I found very funny.
Seriously made my smile while I was doing the quest. Love that Easter Egg!
Our fantastic concept artists added them in and I didn't even notice myself until quite late. Was beautiful. :D
It literally tells you its a long unskippable scene and to make sure you have time to do it before you enter it lol

I wondered how long the quest would have been in development and if you'd have been involved with it. The dialogue in the Zamorakian Undercity sequence in particular rang a lot of Raven bells to me. Nice to see more things with your stamp on them!
I wrote much of the dialogue, though a lot of it has been changed or removed. The end sequence after the speech is all credit to Zura I think. Quite a lot of the stuff is Stu as well, I think he wrote some placeholder dialogue for the undercity and all I did was tweak it a little because it was already great.

I never thought I could save them. But let's be honest, I never even tried. ;)
How's the decision so far?
So far so good. The company is nice. The game is super cool and I get to do world building which is one of my favourite things. So it's a good move so far. I miss Jagex, obviously, but I think it was a good decision to have made.
So when can you answer all my xau-tak questions?

There are literally no devs I would tell you to avoid and I mean that with complete sincerity. The dev team are absolutely awesome and dedicated to making the game as good as it can be. Chat with them, enthuse with them, be cool with them and they'll be cool in return.
Leaving Jagex was the hardest decisions I've ever made because the people working there are genuinely some of the best people I have ever met.
Thank you for everything bud, virtually too good for most game developers to be honest.

we just keep losing og jmods and it makes me scared for the games future.
don’t get me wrong, i’m happy they’re getting better career opportunities, but it’s bittersweet.
There is another way to look at it. Many of us have been there for over a decade. Think of the changes in your life over that time. The fact that we have stayed so long is a testament to the game. Most games companies, you move on after a year or two, for some of us we were there a short lifetime.
And, who knows, if the opportunity opens up again we might yet return. Who knows? :)
But do not worry that we are leaving, the game is in good hands and the devs remaining are awesome types. Look to Mod Rowley for storytelling, Mod Stu for puns, seek out Mod Zura for wholesome stories and seek thee Mod Ramen for badass boss fights. There are some amazing people still working there, think of it as we're stepping aside so that they can shine brighter.
You truly left your mark on RuneScape. Your contributions will make sure you are always mod raven to us even if your leaving the company you helped make the game great
