Thank you for your contributions @beardeddragon1225 and everybody else for your input, I’m pleased to hear that re-pasting solved your issues and it wasn’t something more sinister! Although I’ve been quiet recently I have been keeping an eye on this post every day.

I’m currently working on putting together a "how to improve your performance in Vermintide 2" article but it’s taking longer than I had originally hoped due to the sheer amount of headache-inducing variables involved!

Interesting, will be fun to test out the spear and shield. Can you comment on the throwing axes for bardin? Will they be able to be picked up after thrown? Or will they work like current ranged weapons, resupplied at ammo boxes.

I believe Martin covered it slightly in the Stream on Monday so hopefully I’m not overstating here, but oh well if I am! The plan right now at least is that they’re recoverable from the game world as opposed to from an ammo crate. Perhaps if they end up off a cliff or out of bounds, they can be recovered from a box or pouch but I’m not sure - that’d be speculation on my part.

They come to the office, we chat, they take notes, and they do a write up. We don’t get to vet the write up before print, it’s up to them to present their notes. My guess is either we Swenglished or they misunderstood/miss-noted. Either way, it’s a Spear and Shield and not a Sword and Spear :smiley:

Thank you, I can see the errors, but also some mod-related weirdness. Could you try disabling your mods for a run to see if there’s any improvement?

The crashes you’re experiencing are called Access Violations, which are usually caused by something local. Please try running through the solutions listed here.

Hmm, have you overclocked any of your components?

Would you mind popping a console log over to me, using the instructions below? Ideally we need to see a log that corresponds with a session where the errors have occurred. The dates within the log names should help you locate the correct one.

  1. Press the Windows key + R
  2. Enter %appdata% within the search input and select ‘OK’
  3. Navigate to AppData\Roaming\Fatshark\Vermintide 2\console_logs

Additionally, could you let me know what your connection’s download and upload speeds are, please?

Oh and, do you still have the ‘Small Network Packets’ option enabled or did you disable it after encountering excessive load times?

We’ve just put out a patch for the 1.6 BETA.

  • Fixed crash that could occur on levels when clients interacted with level objects.
  • Fixed crash that could occur when joining someone on the defaul game from the beta.
  • Fixed issue with not being able to apply illusions.
  • Fixed issue with only one player being able to pickup ravaged art scraps.

Yeah it’s an odd one alright. Nothing changed in the configuration side, so might be something broken deeper in the machinations of discourse. I’ll put a ticket their way.

'Tis a known issue, but in the mean time you can either disable ‘Skin Shading’ or switch to DirectX 11 within the launcher. :slight_smile:

Hey @swpz, are you still experiencing the Backend Rejected the Challenge Response errors, or are you simply seeing Server Error?
