Prepare to discover The War Within when it launches globally on August 26 at 3:00 pm PDT. Players who have purchased the Epic Edition of The War Within can participate in Early Access beginning August 22.

It won’t be long before the infinite dragonflight closes the way to Pandaria and the Remix experience. There’s still time to make one last foray, spend your hard-earned Bronze, and get ready for your character to convert to a standard World of Warcraft character at the end of the event.

World of Warcraft Remix: Mists of Pandaria is available to play through August 19 and will shut down on August 20 at 7:00 am PDT (21:00 UTC in all other regions).

Here’s what you can expect when your character converts to a standard World of Warcraft character:

• All items, currencies (except gold), and quests will be removed from Timerunners and their banks during the conversion process, so make sure to spend your Bronze!
• The character conversion process may take several minutes to complete after you login to your character.

Get back in the Fight during Welcome Back Weekend

The War Within™ is nearly here—gather your friends and prepare to descend into the depths of Azeroth to face Xal'atath, Harbinger of the Void. From August 1 through August 4, we're giving all players with inactive World of Warcraft® accounts full access to the game and all your characters without a subscription or Game Time.

Confront the memories of Azeroth during the updated pre-expansion event and collect Residual Memories to purchase new items to add to your Warband collection. We've made changes to the event so that players have less down time between stages and more opportunities to gain rewards.

When: July 30 – August 26
Where: Dalaran (hub), Dragonblight, Dustwallow Marsh, and Searing Gorge
Currency: Residual Memories – Half forgotten memories can be glimpsed in the light playing across this iridescent powder.
Levels: 10-70

Players with and without The War Within™ will be able to take part in this event for its duration.

We wanted to take a moment to recognize that the first day of the pre-expansion content update for The War Within resulted in extended downtime for many players in North American realms. In recognition of this, we're adding one day of extra game time to every subscription in North America, Latin America, Australia and New Zealand for accounts which were active as of July 23, 2024.

We anticipate providing this compensation to affected players on or before August 15, 2024. Players will be able to view their game time by visiting account.battle.net.

It's time to put on your fire resist gear to face Onyxia in her lair and Ragnaros, the fire lord, in the Molten Core.

World Bosses Now Live

Experience Lord Kazzak and Azuregos as brand-new instanced versions of these encounters. These encounters can be experienced with up to 40 players but will be tuned as 20-player content, making them both pick-up-group-friendly with 40 players, but also giving players the option to maximize their rewards by attempting them with 20-players.

The temperature rises with the release of Molten Core on July 25, at 1:00 pm PDT / 22:00 CEST. Season of Discovery is presented with a unique challenge, as a new “Heat” mechanic is introduced in the Molten Core, which is not to be taken lightly.

When you first zone into Molten Core, speak with a Hydraxian Waterlords NPC at the entrance to choose one of three different Heat levels—Sweltering, Blistering, or Molten—with an increase in difficulty at each level.
