More than likely this occurred as a result of the announcement we put out yesterday on the portal and here on the forums.
"The NA server will undergo maintenance on 03/04/20 at 05:00am ET / 02:00am PT and will be unavailable until 08:00am ET / 05:00am PT. Thank you for your patience!"
After that maintenance, I am sure the server needed to be restarted if you were trying to play during that time, you could receive that warning.
