Thanks for creating this thread to help DD players on epicenter @Destroyer_KuroshioKaiGreat video that highlights the need for map awareness in addition to the capping situations for both teams.

DD's come into each battle with a long list of strengths and opportunities in which they can help their team succeed. Yet one mistake can lead said DD to be a a ripple in the water as it is sunk. This is multiplied in ranked when the numbers of ships are cut down even more than a standard random battle. @A_Burning_Sensationconcern over players not reading the available information even before the battle begins is a solid bit of concern and advice. If you do not understand who and what you are facing that can be a recipe for disaster.

If you are unfamiliar or just need a reminder on how best to "Read" or "take inventory" of the enemy's compisition@Ducky_shot put together a solid guide on a basic approach for this.

Hey HyenaHiena,

BBs are tanky but with the right amount of focus fire from your team a BB can be destroyed pretty quickly. Between the fires, floods and shell damage the BB can only live through so much. The problem you might run into is your team lacking focus fire which will allow low health BBs survive longer or escape on low health.

What tactics do you use to destroy BBs? Do you ping low health targets? Type it out in chat?

Tips:

1. Focus fire on low health targets.

2. Ping enemy targets that just used their damage control.

What about BBs are you struggling with the most?

Hey Happy668,

The Neptune is a ship that does take some care and preparation to play correctly. The Neptune does have high sides that are prone to damage but if you setup correctly you can deal out a lot of damage quickly.

The ship does have maneuverability that is somewhat lacking and the concealment is a little high. You do have to take these into account when picking your position on where to setup.

Tips:

1. Pay attention to where you prepare and setup your smoke. While in the smoke make sure you are moving while you shoot because you will get shot at.

2. Do your best to not expose your sides of you can and make sure you use islands and cover appropriately.

3. Play smart, use your BBs to tank and deal out damage.

Event waves come and go, this year alone we’ve had the Fly Strike Win event that was CV based and Victory event that was BB based. Of course Rogue wave is optional content in which you do not have to partake in if you are not interested.

In regards to this event in particular; the discord is just for those that are randomly selected to use the event accounts and become the Marauders. We need an instantaneous method of talking to all event account participants at once for coordination and Discord allows the easiest way of doing this. You do not however need voice communications, all information is available on text.

Participants are predominantly selected randomly (CCs/Privateers/STs do have a small amount of priority, also qualified individuals who can act as volunteers also get slight favor), but typically over 250 accounts to the general player base. Though it is a tragedy to see the condition of the USS Highpoint, it highlights how difficult and expensive it is to upkeep museum ships and other pieces of "Living History." According to the wiki article, the original cost of the USS High Point (PCH-1) was 2.08 million dollars. You would likely need just as much to get her to run again if not more. If the goal was to bring back her "Spit and Polish" and just keep her as a Museum ship she would still need close to half, roughly 1 million dollars, to refurbish her.

The sad truth is that sea and weather will always wear down these pieces of history. It takes a concerted effort by the devoted museum staff's to stave off the damage incurred by simple day to day existence. And if any of you have the desire and funds to bring the USS Highpoint from this state, more power to you and please let us know you are taking this on. This event literally cannot be run in Co-Op modes. However please consider that you do get rewards for Stars in operations that are not available to those who only play Random modes.

Some events go for all modes, others for one mode, there will be other opportunities to get rewards if you a PvE player. If you haven’t previously, make sure you check out the weekly forum contests found: https://forum.worldofwarships.com/forum/315-contests-and-competitions/

First off, congratulations @ihsasum, on both ranking out and coming up with a different way to employ the Mahan for this season of ranked. A few questions for you:

As you sacrificed the normal or expected spotting role of a DD for your "Mini-Atlanta build" did you ever find the lack of spotting a hindrance at any time?


How did your teammates respond to the unique "Mini-Atlanta" play style?


What ships were your primary nemesis, those that were hitting and hurting you the most when you did take fire? Or was it more a case of when you were hit you relocated quickly enough?

French destroyer Vauquelin, tier VII:

Maximum torpedo damage lowered from 18 400 to 14 833;


Main caliber guns reload time increased from 4.8 to 5 s.

Recent changes significantly increased Vauquelin's torpedo efficiency: the destroyer started to deal almost the same amount of damage with them as with main caliber guns. To balance the total damage done by the ship, the damage of torpedoes was lowered and the reload time of main caliber guns was increased.

French destroyer Guepard, tier VI:

Main caliber guns reload time increased from 5.2 to 5.6 s.

The change will balance Guepard with same tier destroyers in terms of her total damage output.

We regularly do send out surveys, and while some are game related (how you felt about your last battle, or a new mechanic) others definitely cover areas of your additional interest. This type of data helps us paint a better picture of our average player in this region and identify not only potential advertising but areas of potential collaboration.
