BLIGHT 2.0

  • Improvements to telegraphing:
    • Made the Blight screen overlay transparent when looking away from the centre of the storm to make it clearer which direction to travel in to get out.
    • If you can see particles you're at risk of destruction (you're near the destruction radius)
    • Destruction VFX will last longer. Now it will fade to black over 7.5s and 'dissolve' over 2.5s. Colliders should also be disabled halfway through the dissolving process.
    • New lightning VFX to make the Blight look more dangerous
    • Blight will now turn on if the server hits 75% time dilation for 30 seconds and disable when it gets to 85% time dilation for 30 seconds
    • Blight is now visible from 6km away

NOTABLE BUGFIXES AND CHANGES


  • Newly learned schematics will have the correct amount of unlocked cipher slots.
  • Fixed a bug where schematics could have more cipher slots than the player had unlocked.
  • Fixed a bug where players would be unable to listen to other players if the other players were quickly moving in and out of VoIP range.
  • Reduced ship rubberbanding
    • General ship motion is smoother now
    • The black spinning circle will appear less frequently
    • Ships won't stop at server boundaries
    • Ships positions should be closer to where they actually are on the server

EXCITING NEWS! Before you sink your ship and create a new character, fantastic news - we are working on an option to reset all ALL KNOWLEDGE DATABANKS in the near future to ease in the new overheat and cipher mechanics!
NEW FEATURES AND CONTENT
  • Proximity voice chat is now in the game! The volume will attenuate based on the distance between the speaker’s and listener’s characters. The /mute command will now also mute someone’s voice chat. Typing “/mute USERNAME voice” will only mute their voice channel, leaving their text chat visible.
  • Painting ship parts is now possible! Oh em gee! Customize the color of your ship part by putting paint in the new cosmetic component slots connected to the “standard” crafting components. Dyeing clothing has now been reworked to use the same system, which will cut out the middle step of crafting dyed cloth.

The ‘Will of the Council’ is one of Worlds Adrift’s largest updates ever, second only to Update 27 aka ‘Foundations’.
