Patch 29.2 is here, bringing with it Battlegrounds Season 7, Battlegrounds Duos, and much more! This is a big patch, so there are a few known issues we’re tracking. Refer to this post for updates throughout this patch.

The known issues we’re tracking this patch include:

[Shop] Mac desktop clients are unable to access the Shop in patch 29.2. This will be resolved in our next major patch. In the meantime, you can still make any purchases through the web shop or mobile devices.
[Cosmetics] There is a bug where the default Coin is generated in-game instead of your Favorited Coin. This is scheduled to be fixed in the next major patch.
[Added 4/16] [Collection] The team is investigating reports of players unable to open their last pack in a stack. This is believed to be a purely visual bug related to packs granted when retiring Duels.
[Added 4/16] [Battlegrounds] Using Reno’s Hero Power on Persistent Poet results in a visual ...

Wait a goddamn second...

The vague teaser phrasing we used for this made it sound like Duels, when Duels is already on your mind. We didn't intend any similarity perception there. It nothing at all like Duels.

I'm super hyped for it, we've put a ton of work into it. It should feel real special, but nothing like Duels.

With Season 7, Battlegrounds Ratings will reset and Battlegrounds Quests will rotate out of the Tavern. Tavern Spells will stay in the Tavern for both traditional Battlegrounds and Battlegrounds Duos as a regular part of Battlegrounds going forward.

Hearthstone Updates

General Updates

Cards in your deck will now be in a random order. We’d get more into the specifics about this change, but we’re not sure that’s a rabbit hole worth exploring.
Before queueing for a match, you’ll now select whether you want to go first or second, and then get paired with a player who has made the opposite selection.
You’re not imagining it: the toys in Whizbang’s Workshop do move when you’re not looking.
You can now pet the dog in Hearthstone.

Shadowstep

Dev Comment: For player sentiment reasons, Shadowstep has been removed from Core. A new card, called Step, will be added into Core in its place.
